Ever since she was born, Tora has been alone. She had no father or mother, nor people she could even call parental figures.

Although she had no parental figures, she did have her retainers to help raise her. However, they didn't provide her with the parental love that normal parents would. And if they did, Tora couldn't really tell.

They simply treated her as the Head of the Byakko Clan, not as a child they were raising with love. So, she didn't feel all that close to them.

Tora knows they mean well, but as a child, she didn't quite understand the circumstances. So, she simply gave up trying to gain their affection and tried to act like the Byakko Head, just as they raised her to be.

And that in itself was difficult in multiple ways. One problem was what her guardian was; the Byakko Tiger.

It was said that out of the four guardians, the Byakko Tiger was the most dangerous and wild guardian to deal with. And that's why Tora's mother died while giving birth to her.

When the current head of the Clan has a child, they must transfer the powers of the guardian during the birth procedure. And the Byakko Clan always had trouble doing this process due to how untamable the beast was.

On the day of Tora's birth, the Clan had a very troublesome time transferring the power. Once the Byakko Tiger was released, it escaped a seal to keep it contained and started causing chaos in the western district.

To make matters worse, Tora was the last of the future guardian vessels to be born, so none of the other Guardians could come and stop the tiger. Fortunately, the Jade Emperor and the generals stepped in to stop the tiger and proceed with the transference.

But during all that chaos, Tora's mother died due to the strain on her body. Once the tiger was transferred over to Tora, she was now parentless.

Her father died long before she was born and her mother died during the chaos the Byakko Tiger was causing. What a way to start her life in this world.

Thanks to the chaos the Byakko Tiger caused, Tora was met with a lot of fear and distaste. Although she was the current Byakko Head, the people feared that the guardian would cause trouble like during her birth.

And that distance her even more from people. Without having parental figures or people her age to hang around with, Tora felt isolated.

She felt she was destined to be feared...to be hated and alone. Knowing what her future was now, Tora decided to simply be obedient and not cause trouble.

She listened to what her retainers said while following her duties like a proper head. Due to this though, Tora could not feel the joys of being a child. To live like a child.

From the moment she was born, she needed to act like the Head of the Byakko Clan. This caused her to more or less act like a robot, voided of emotions.

A part of her was afraid that this was going to be her life. To live like a drone with little to no emotions.

That is until Tora made a fateful encounter with a certain crybaby child in her district. It was the granddaughter of the Seer and close aide of the Jade Emperor, Kurosawa Anri.

Tora noticed the child looking around, her eyes brimming with tears.

"What's wrong?" Tora approached the seer's granddaughter, looking apathetic as usual.

"M-momma...!" Anri cried, looking around trying to find her mother.

"You can't find your mother?"
