Uriel slew down any wendigos that got in his line of sight. However, which each monster he killed, two or three more just took its place to attack him. There didn't seem to be an end to these things no matter how many were killed.

After Zemmi, Damien Crow, along with his group left to go after the wendigo siblings, Uriel and the rest of the fighters have been dealing with this never-ending horde of monsters.

"There's just no end to them..." Uriel muttered.

A wendigo quickly jumped in the air to pounce on Uriel. Before it could get close enough, a magic spear appeared, piercing through its chest.

"You should pay more attention, Uriel." The one who delivered the attack was non other than Garrett, a Cardinal like Uriel.

"Thank you, Garrett. Ah, look out!" Noticing a wendigo was getting close, Uriel went in to take it down.

But that didn't seem necessary since Ulysses just stepped in and smashed it with his gauntlets.

"I feel as though we haven't reduced their numbers at all! At this point, we'll be too tired to even fight back if this keeps up."

Ulysses was right. This fight was merely a test of endurance now. While the wendigos had numbers, Uriel and the rest only had their fighting spirit to keep going.

It wouldn't be long before they get exhausted to the point where they can't even wield their weapons. When that happens, they're as good as dead.

"Lord Gabriel!" Uriel called out to the archangel, who was currently in the sky taking down any wendigos in his sights. "Please tell me you or any of the other angels can use that smiting skill again."

What Uriel was referring to was the heavenly light that incinerated the wendigos before when Damien and the rest of the group were surrounded. The one who used that attack was Michael, but Uriel knew that the other archangels could do the same thing.

The only question is why haven't they? Letting Michael use that skill again would only anger the Champion and the Invincible Dragon, so having him do it was ill-advised. But that didn't mean the others couldn't, so why haven't they used it yet?

What Gabriel said next was more or less demoralizing.

"I'm afraid that using that skill would only make matters worse for us. Using high-power magic like that would only feed Famine, making her stronger. We don't want Famine to be too powerful when she awakens, or we won't be able to fight against her."

That's when Uriel was reminded of one of Famine's abilities when he was first told of her. Her ability to feed on anything, including mana. In fact, using that smiting skill would only expose Famine to all that mana used, so she would only feed on it to grow more powerful.

Though, if that was the case, then why did Michael used it in the first place...after thinking for a moment, Uriel realized why and decided to leave that be.

"Is there anything we can do against this horde?!" Garrett asked, piercing another wendigo in the chest.

"Dealing with this horde is a fool's errand," Raphael said. "Their numbers won't diminish before we collapse from exhaustion. We need to deal with Nocticula. At least draw her away from famine."

He was right. Their mission was to simply find the witch, Nocticula, and get her away from Famine, so she wouldn't have control of the beast. However...

"Hey, angel!" A snarling voice called out to Raphael.

The voice was non other than Sullivan, one of the Beast King's loyal soldiers. He was currently in his full Lycan form, ripping apart any wendigos that come his way.
