It was a usual Saturday in Edo Paradise with customers booming in the restaurant. "Oh Sougo, Toshirou. Glad to see you two well" i smiled at the Shinsengumi members as they came inside. They greeted me as well and then took their usual seats. After taking their orders i went inside the kitchen to deliver the order. I came back and attended other customers. Everything was fine and all until the power suddenly went out. Huh? This is odd. The power never goes here i thought before asking the waiters to light up candles. Thankfully we brought tons of them in beforehand hand just in case.
As the ladies did what i asked them to, i opened the restaurant windows. I walked upto the main door and opened it to allow light and air to flow. Oh it's bright out here from the moonlight i thought as i stepped outside. Wait.. moonlight? i whipped my head around the area and saw none of the lights on in any building. What's happening..? "What happened? Why do you look so worried?" Hijikata asked as he stood beside me. "Toshirou, look around the area.. there's no light. This.. isn't normal right?" i asked as sweat formed on my forehead. "Y-You're right.. " he did what i told him to causing him to be surprised as well. Suddenly we heard electrical noises from the inside causing us both to turn around.
"Citizens of Edo" the television was suddenly turned on "Soon this city will be under robot's control" some of us gasped hearing it "The era where robots are controlled by humans has ended. When our queen's soul come back, robots will be equal to humans. No, to God. If her spirit doesn't come back, we will have to shed blood as a sacrifice" The heck is that maniac talking about? A familiar Pachi-boy was shown on the TV causing my eyes to widen. "What's happening in Edo..?" i gritted through my teeth in frustration. "Miriko, Kiriko. I'll leave the restaurant to you two" i said while grabbing my sword. "Yes" they both said firmly. "We'll go too" Hijikata and Sougo said from behind me. "Alright, let's go".
"Where did all these robots come from?!" Hijikata shouted as he sliced them. "Ah Hijikata-san, you could pick a wife for you from here and leave Hanae-san to me" Sougo said as he sliced a few. "Like hell i will!" he shouted kicking another one. "Seems like you two are enjoying this" i said as 3 of our backs met. "You're misreading the situation, Hanae-san. I wanna slice Hijikata-san also" Sougo said. "For once just stop killing me!" Hijikata shouted. I chuckled at their bickering. We need to soon find the source of this. Also Shinpachi. But i believe Gintoki and Kagura has long gone after him i was so caught up in my thoughts that i didn't notice a robot coming from behind me. "Look out!"
"Where is your concentration at?!" Hijikata shouted as he pulled me into his chest and sliced the robot behind me. "I.. sorry. I was a bit worried about others" i looked down not meeting his eyes. "Hey, look at me" he tilted my chin up to face him "It's good that you're worried about others but for now let's finish this and then go together to look for them" he gave me a warm smile as he patted my head. "Toshirou.. thank you" i smiled back at him. "Hey, are you two done? Hijikata you smooth talking bastard! Leaving me all the work!" Sougo shouted as he sliced more robots. "Sorry sorry, thank you Sougo-kun" i chuckled slightly at his words before helping him. We 3 and the other Shinsengumi members fought for a while until something unexpected happen.
"The robots.. they stopped.. " one of the members said and then fell on their butt. "The lights are also turning back on in the city" another one said. "These robots were sure a handful" Hijikata said plopping on the ground. "Yeah, I've never felt so good being in charge" Sougo said with a satisfied smile on his face as he also sat on the ground. "Well, if the robots have stopped and the lights have come back then i guess things have calmed down there too" i sighed in relief before settling myself in between those two. I noticed Hijikata taking out his packet of cigarettes. "Give me one, please" i said placing my hand in front of him. "Alright" he said before handing one. "Me too" Sougo said placing his hand in front of us. "No, you're still a kid" i ruffled his soft hair. "Not fair, Hanae-san" he pouted like a child causing me to chuckle. Hijikata lighted up his cigarette and then passed his lighter to me which i rejected. I held the cigarette in my mouth and then pushed the bud into Hijikata's lighted one. He blushed at the close proximity while i smiled to myself. "Thank you"
