3rd Person POV

= Somewhere in California =

"There's protesters." Willow tells Marvin, sitting on the edge of the bed and gesturing at the TV in the conjoined motel room

"I understand there are protesters." Marvin says, zipping his duffle bag up

"I need to go help." Willow tells him

"No, you don't." Marvin tells her. "Supergirl can handle it. This is not the threat."

"But it's still a threat." Willow tells him. "They're protesting aliens living here."

"Exactly why you shouldn't go." Marvin tells her. "Aside from the fact that there are reporters there–"

"I am a reporter." Willow says through his sentence

"You're technically dead." Marvin tells her

"We can't have cameras see you." Marvin tells her. "That," He says, pointing that the TV, "that is national news. Base Ops could see you. And aside from that fact? You're an alien. They're protesting you living here." He tells her

"But–" Willow tries

"No." Marvin tells her. "You wanna help Supergirl? Focus on the big threat. I will help you take down the big threat and keep Supergirl safe. But I'm sure as hell not going to let you put yourself into unnecessary danger."

Willow is silent for a moment. But then, screaming on the muffled TV catches her attention and she turns the volume up. The protesters are attacking each other and a flag pole falls towards the crows. Supergirl swoops in and saves the crowds

Supergirl stands with the American flag next to her. "Now is the time to talk to each other, not fight." She announces to the crowds of people

"See?" Marvin tells Willow. "She's got it under control." He says, taking the remote from Willow's hands and turning the TV off. "Go finish getting ready. We still have a 6 hour drive to National City."

"You mean the city where I can't show myself anywhere?" Willow questions sarcastically
"That exact one." Marvin matches her tone. "Also the city where Supergirl lives." He reminds her

"I know." Willow says, slowly getting up from the edge of the bed and slowly walking into the other conjoined room, grabbing onto the wall for support, to finish getting ready for the day

***

"The president's an alien." Willow tells Marvin from the backseat of the car, leaning forward with a laptop. She pulls her headphones out to show Marvin the news as he drives

"Where did you..." Marvin trails off, looking over to the laptop. "Did you steal my computer?"

"Maybe..." Willow says

"Please tell me you're not using data." Marvin says in a serious tone

"Relax, dude." Willow tells him, slouching back in the seat. "I'm not gonna run your bill through the roof."

"I'm talking about tracking." Marvin says through his teeth. "This is my computer, registered to my name. Base Ops can easily track my location through my data."

"So, what?" Willow scoffs. "We're supposed to live in fear of Base Ops finding us every minute of the day."

"Precisely." Marvin tells her

"That's stupid." Willow says

"It's safe." Marvin says. "You need to start anticipating and predicting more. As much memory and information as that brain of yours can store, you sure do pull some stupid stunts."
