NEXT CHAPTER MARCH 7
3rd Person POV

"We live in a world on the cutting edge." Lex Luthor says in a commercial. "And as mankind advances, so too does the danger it faces. For years, we protected America in secret. But now, we want you to know you're in good hands."

"Hope, help and compassion for all." Supergirl says in the commercial

"That's our motto here at The DEO." Lena says

"Call us for all your extranormal needs." Lex says

"Ugh." Kara groans, watching the commercial as she and Alex pass by a TV in the city with donuts in hand. "Gag me with a spoon.I don't care what world we're on, I can't ever see a version of myself agreeing to do that commercial."

"Well, on this planet, you and Lex were excellent collaborators." Alex says

"No, stop!" Kara exclaims. "This is literally my nightmare."

"Okay, well, how do you think I feel?" Alex asks. "I've been totally in the dark. Thank God J'onn gave me my memories back."

"Yeah, I know, I wish he could do it for everyone." Kara says

"Well, according to him, restoring the world's collective memories would reconfigure relationships on such a massive scale that everyone's minds would literally be blown." Alex says

"Ugh, gross." Kara groans. "And now Lex is getting some Man of Tomorrow award, and Andrea sent me and William to cover it."

"Are you sure you're ready for that?" Alex asks as the two continue to walk

"What do you mean?" Kara asks

"Well, I mean...it's only been a week since...well, since everything happened." Alex says. "Maybe a little more recovery time wouldn't be such a bad thing." She suggests

"Yeah?" Kara whispers with a slight scoff. "And how much recovery time is needed for a broken heart?" She asks, stopping in her tracks and Alex stops as well

Alex sighs, putting a comforting hand on Kara's shoulder. "She'll be back." She whispers to her sister. "She just...she needs some time."

"How much time?" Kara whispers with a tear in her eye

"I don't know." Alex whispers defeatedly. "I don't know..." And she pulls Kara into a hug

"She didn't even tell me that she was leaving." Kara whispers

"She tends to do that." Alex says, pulling away. "Whenever things get tough, Willow Greene has a tendency to run."

"And why do you think that is?" Kara asks

"Maybe it's a trauma response." Alex says with a shrug

"She was raised as a soldier." Kara says. "Shouldn't her first response be to fight back?"

"She was forced to be a soldier." Alex says. "Base Ops took a scared 16-year-old girl and forced her to be a soldier. She didn't have a childhood...she probably just doesn't know what to do..." She says with a shrug

Kara sighs, nodding. "Maybe you're right." Kara whispers, looking at the ground. "Maybe she just needs some time and space..."

"She'll be back before you know it." Alex promises Kara

"I hope..." Kara whispers, lifting her gaze to look at her sister. "...because I hate this feeling in my heart...this emptiness..." She whispers, placing a hand over her chest. Alex pulls her sister into another hug, squeezing her tightly

"Willow Greene, get up." Marvin tells the green-eyed girl, tossing a jacket on the bed where she was sleeping
