3rd Person POV
A phone call won't hurt...a phone call won't hurt...
Willow paces back and forth in her apartment. Every now and then, her eyes glance at her cell phone on the kitchen counter. She anxiously bites her nails as she thinks over and over again about her conversation with J'onn
She still can't even believe she had a conversation with J'onn. After what he said, after hearing that he wants to help her and that he is working with Marvin to figure something out...well, she felt like the world was flipped upside down. J'onn was the last person she thought would ever help her
A phone call won't hurt...a phone call won't hurt...
He was right. As much as it annoys Willow to admit, he was right. A phone call won't hurt. Her kryptonite cannot travel through the phone and harm Kara. It wasn't possible at all. But that wasn't the only thing running through her mind. She knew that the second she heard Kara's voice, she might lose it. She doesn't just want to hear Kara's voice, she wants to be there to feel Kara's voice. To feel Kara's words. To feel Kara's love. But the two couldn't touch (and the two also knew that Willow was terrified of touching Kara again in fear of hurting her). So a phone call...well, it might be the only thing right now that can keep the girls connected

And so, Willow makes her decision. She makes her way over to the kitchen counter and grabs her cell phone. She dials the number that she knows by heart and lifts the phone to her ear. And it rings. And it rings. And it rings. Until finally, the call goes through. It's silent. The only thing that Willow can hear is Kara's shaky breathing. But she knows that Kara is there. And so, Willow takes a deep breath before whispering,
"Kara?" Willow whispers through the phone
"Will?" Kara asks, using Willow's nickname
"Yeah, it's me." Willow whispers, a tear dripping down her cheek
"I haven't seen you since yesterday morning." Kara says. Willow can hear the strain in Kara's voice, the tears in her voice. And Willow covers her face with her hand as she thinks about all that she's put Kara through
"I know." Willow says, her voice muffled. She pulls her hand away from her face and takes a deep breath. "I know." She repeats. "J'onn came to talk to me." She tells Kara
"He did?" Kara asks, her tone sounding like she already knew that he had spoken to Willow but that she wanted to hear it from Willow too
"Yea, I did." Willow says. "He told me something that I really needed to hear. Something that I think we both need to hear..." She says, trailing off
"And what is that?" Kara asks, her voice strained
"That a phone call won't hurt." Willow states simply. "J'onn and Marvin are teaming up to try and find a way for us to be together but until then...he told me that a phone call wouldn't hurt. And he's right. I'm sorry that it took me so long to figure that out." It's silent on the other end of the line so Willow takes a breath before asking an important question that has been swirling around her mind. Swirling in confusion, in doubt, in anxiety. "Do you...do you still want to be together?" She asks, her voice timid
And it's silent on the other end. She can only hear Kara's breathing. Or rather, the lack of Kara's breathing. Upon asking the question, Kara's breath caught in her throat and she went quiet. Or that's what Willow could only assume since she wasn't there
"Willow Greene." Kara says through the phone finally. "I love you. I think I always have and I think I always will." And with that confession and reassurance, all of Willow's doubts and anxieties melt away
"And I you, Kara Danvers." Willow says. And Willow smiles. A phone call didn't hurt...
