3rd Person POV

Willow's eyes snap open and she takes a huge gasp of breath. Letting out the breath, she coughs and coughs, her entire body shaking with each cough. Her head was laying flat on the bed, her entire body horizontal. And her body needed to be horizontal because of the AED but there was about to be an issue. Willow was too weak to roll her body to the side, and she was getting more and more nauseous with each cough

Willow chokes for a moment before Marvin springs into action, rushing over and flipping her to the side where she vomits onto the floor

"Is she okay?" Kara questions, pressing her emblem and the protective suit around her disappears (now that Lena had secured the kryptonite away)

"She's alright." Marvin whispers, rubbing Willow's back as he speaks. He sniffles back a tear, looking at Kara. "She's alright. She's alive." He looks around the room at each of the others. "Thank you. Thank you all." And with that, he breaks down into sobs

Marvin walks out of the apartment and to the roof in order to get some fresh air. And while making his way to the roof, he sees another figure out there with the same idea as him

"How is she?" J'onn questions, staring out to the city from where he is leaning on the ledge

Marvin walks over, joining J'onn by the ledge and staring forwards. "Stable. She's gonna be alright." He says with a sigh of relief. And for a moment, he thinks he hears J'onn sigh in relief as well. Marvin takes this as an opportunity to start another conversation. "Thank you." He thanks J'onn. "For all you did to help Willow. I know how you feel about her and how much you hate her--"

"I don't hate her." J'onn tells Marvin, cutting through his sentence

"You've never liked her." Marvin points out

"I've never liked what runs through her blood." J'onn corrects. "Willow Greene is a fine girl, a good hero, and an amazing soldier. My issue has never been with her, only with the kryptonite in her blood."

"And now?" Marvin questions

J'onn turns his head in confusion and looks at Marvin. "What do you mean? She still has the kryptonite in her. Probably even more now." He tells Marvin

"Yes, she does." Marvin agrees. "But she also has Kara's blood in her. This could be the solution we have been looking for."

"The solution of how the two of them can be together without Willow killing Kara?" J'onn questions

"Yes, that very solution." Marvin says and then he cracks a smile. "With Kara's alien blood in Willow, they might be able to touch."

"You have a theory, don't you?" J'onn asks

"Yes, I do." Marvin says. "Willow is a smart girl. Every single thing about her is intelligent. Including her blood."

"So, what's your theory?" J'onn questions

"My theory is that Kara's body will be able to recognize her own blood in Willow's system." Marvin says. "And that could, in turn, allow them to touch because Kara's blood will dilute the kryptonite poisoning when it recognizes Kara's touch."

"That's an incredibly wild theory." J'onn says

"But it is something we have been working towards figuring out." Marvin says. "I think that right now, this is the best we've got."

J'onn looks back out into the city, quiet. After a moment, he speaks, "Where are our girls?"

"Still downstairs." Marvin says. "I don't think Kara is leaving Willow's side anytime soon."

"Well, then, we better hope that your theory holds water." J'onn says

***

Willow is laying on the bed when Kara walks back through the door with a glass of water. "Here you go." Kara says, handing Willow the water

Willow takes the water and takes a sip before putting the cup on her bedside table. She winces sharply in pain as her body turns. When she lays back down again, she looks at Kara's worried face. "I'm okay." She promises

"You died." Kara points out. "I think you're pretty far from okay."

"Well, at least we can both say that we died." Willow says with a small laugh

Kara laughs a small laugh as well with tears in her eyes. "This isn't funny." Kara tells Willow, wiping away a tear. "I thought I lost you."

"I'm right here." Willow whispers to Kara, wanting to reach out and touch her. But Willow could barely move without being in pain and she didn't want to risk hurting Kara with her kryptonite

"You weren't for a while." Kara says. "You--"

"I know." Willow says. "I know." She repeats, looking into Kara's eyes. "But right now, I'm not going anywhere. Nor do I plan to. I'm right here. I'm right here." She says with a whisper

And then, Kara's lips press softly against Willow's

After a few moments, Willow pulls away. "Oh my god...are you okay?" She questions, remembering the last time that the two kissed and how that ended

Kara is silent for a moment, staring into Willow's green eyes. With Kara's silence, Willow holds her breath in anticipation and just waits for something -- anything -- to happen. She waits for Kara to drop dead to the ground, she waits for the world to explode or for the freaking universe to collapse

But nothing happens

"I'm...I'm good." Kara says, just as surprised and shocked as Willow

"How is that possible?" Willow asks in a whisper, touching her hand to Kara's cheek and smiling a small smile at the face that she actually could. "You should be dead right now."

"But I'm not." Kara says with a smile. "I'm alive. And I feel amazing." She says and then she kisses Willow on the lips once again
