One month check-up

(Date: November 18, 2019) (sorry for the time jump)
Billie's POV:
I wake up to my mom rubbing my back. I rub my eyes and sit up.
M- good morning
B- morning
M- brook has her one month check-up
B- oh that's today
M- yea
B- oh thank you for waking me up then
M- no problem
I get out of bed and walk over to brooks crib
M- I'm going to start on breakfast
B- alright
Mom leaves my room and brook starts to wake up. She opens her eyes and stretches out her arms and legs.
B- oo big stretch
She moves her arms around so I quickly go into my bathroom and brush my teeth. Change into some shorts and a baggy shirt then I pick brook up from her crib. I hold her tiny hand and she holds on to my finger.
B- how are you so cute
She smirks a bit which makes me laugh. I walk out of my room and go to the living room.
B- tummy time
I say as I sit down and place her on the carpet on her tummy. She lifts her head up but only for a few seconds.
B- good job baby
I coo at her. After a minute she starts to get fussy so I pick her up and go to the kitchen.
B- hey mom
M- hey bil what's up
B- can you hold brook plz so I can go pee
M- sure
I pass brook to mom and run it my room. I go into my bathroom and do my business. I hear brook crying so I wash my hands and ran out to the kitchen.
M- bil you need to feed her
B- ok ok
Mom passes me brook and I get her calmed down. I go to my room and sit on my bed. I move her into her feeding position and I pull my shirt and bra down. She latches on and I walk back to the kitchen covering my boob with my free hand.
B- what time is her check-up
M- it's at 12
B- ok so it's 10 right now so we have at least an hour
M- yup anyways here is your smoothie
B- thank you
M- no problem bil
I go back to my room and close the door. Brook latches off even tho i could tell she was still hungry. I burp her and then put her back in her feeding position. I pull my bra back up and pull the other side down. She latches on again and I drink my smoothie. After ten mins she latches off so I burp her and pull my bra back up. I get up and walk to the kitchen and put my cup in the sink. I walk to the living room and sit on the couch. I lay brook on my lap and bring my legs up a bit. I open her hands as they were in a fist and I clap them together lightly.
F- morning bil
B- good morning I say still looks at brook and clapping her hands together.
F- what are you doing
B- clapping her hands
F- what is that going to do
B- it's teaching her to clap
F- oh ok
He walks away. Brook starts making a gurgling sound which mom told me is a good thing.
B- ok let's try tummy time again huh
I say as I pick her up and sit on the floor. I place her on her tummy and she holds her head up a little.
B- good job babygirl
She starts fussing so I pick her up and hold her close to my face. She stares at me for a sec then looks away. I laugh then get up.
M- billie get Brooklynn's diaper bag and get your shoes on we have to go
B- Ok mom
I go to my room and get her diaper bag and I walk to the garage. I slip on my shoes and mom opens brooks door for me. I thank her and I put brook in her car seat. I close the door and walk to the other side of the car and get in.
B- mom will she have to get shots
M- I think she might need to get like one or two
B- oh
I go on my phone as mom drives and brook starts crying.
B- it's ok princess it's ok shhh shhh it's ok shhh shhh
I say as I wipe her tears away. I open her balled up fist and place my finger on her palm. She hold on to my finger and she calms down.
M- billie how did you become such a great mother
B- I learnt from the best
Mom smiles and go back on my phone. Once we got to the pediatrician place mom parks and stops the car. I get out and mom gets the diaper bag. I close my door and walk around the car and open brooks door. I take out the carrier and we go inside. I had to sign brook in and surprising it was simple. We sit down and after a few mins a nurse calls brooks name. We get up and follow her to a room.
N- doctor Hosinger will be with you shortly
B- ok
The nurse leaves and after 10 mins the doctor walks in.
(Doctor hosinger- DH)
DH- hello my name is dr. Hosinger and I will be your pediatrician
B- hi I'm Billie and We're here for Brooklynn's one month check up
DH- ah yes let's just pull up her file, can I have her last name please
B- O'Connell
DH- spell that for me please
B- sure it's O Apostrophe C O N N E L L
DH- ok thank you, ok I'm going to ask some questions then we can start the check up
B- ok
DH- how long is she nursing for
B- 20 to 30 mins
DH- ok, how often dose she nurse every day
B- umm I would say 8 to 9 times a day
DH- ok, how much sleep is she getting at night
B- she's been waking up 3 to 4 times a night but other then that she sleeps soundly
DH- ok, well answers seem normal so let's get this check up going so Can you please take her out of the carrier and take off her onesie
B- alright
I take her out and undress her leaving her in a diaper.
DH- ok so we are going it start with getting her weight and height so if you could put her on the weighing machine for me
I do as the doctor says and she writes down her
weight. She measures her height and writes it down. She does a normal check up and she says that everything seems normal.
DH- ok last think shots
B- how many will she be getting
DH- she will be getting two
B- ok
The doctor leaves and a few mins later she comes back. She gets the shots over and done with and I get brook calmed down. I put her onesie back on and we were able to leave. For the rest of the day brook mostly slept, nursed, and pooped.
