A/N: PLEASE READ: Sooo this isn't reallyyyy a one-shot but it kind of is...basically it's me analyzing what happens to Edmund during the Battle of Beruna. And how it affects his relationship with Peter. Although I do have my own words written in, and it's not SOLELY what happens in the movie. But yeah read on if you're interested 😂

Peter sees that the Narnians are losing the battle, he believes they have no chance of winning. So, his first instinct is to get Edmund far away from the battlefield. He's not going to let his brother die, but he's going to stay here and finish what he started. Fight for Narnia. To the death.

Edmund doesn't want to leave. He wants to stay and fight. Fight for the country he betrayed. He wants to make it up by fighting for them. Edmund said it best, he can't leave the Narnians behind to suffer for his mistakes. But Mr. Beaver drags him away, and he seems to have no choice in the matter.

But as Edmund's being dragged away, he looks back. He does so multiple times, because he just doesn't want to leave. He knows that he can't leave. So when he turns around, he sees Jadis. And he sees al the damage, death, and pain she has caused. And he remembers all the pain she caused him. And he is not about to let her cause the Narnians that much pain. So Edmund unsheathes his sword, and runs back into battle. Despite what Peter says, because he knows it's the right thing, and he knows he must do it.
