Yesterday I hugged you, just like every day.
But now I cannot do so, you're somewhere far away.
I got the call one morning, I couldn't help but cry.
My entire family is gone, and I didn't say goodbye.
My body feels so numb, and I always feel so cold.
A huge darkness surrounds me, and I feel all alone.
They say you're in a better place, you're somewhere safe and free.
Forgive me for my unbelief, I just wish you were next to me.
I keep our memories with me, the time we spent together.
I hold them here in my heart, where they will remain forever.
I've realized you're in heaven, so I think I'll be okay.
I'll be here 'till we meet again, oh how I long for that day.
God answered all my prayers, he said he called you home.
He didn't mean to hurt me, he just needed you the most.
One day we'll meet again, goodbye is not forever,
When God decides to call me home, we'll finally be together.
