When Ian woke up at night, he saw Ezekiel sitting gloomily beside him. He sat up on his bed.
When Ezekiel saw him sitting up, he supported Ian and place a pillow behind him to let him lean on the pillow.

"Did you have dinner?" Ian asked. He saw the hesitation in his hubby's eyes

Ezekiel wanted to nod but after seeing the sincerity in Ian's voice. He shook his head.

Ian sighed "why?"
Ezekiel looked away from him "I...I was worried about you."

Ian smiled and reached his hand towards Ezekiel.

Ezekiel thought Ian wants to stand up so he wanted to hold him but a warm body fell in his arms. He heard a childish voice "Thank you."

From then, everyone in the orphanage would see them together always. Actually they saw Ian following Ezekiel everywhere. Xiaomei and Ellen also followed him with Ian sometime but then they got bored and left.

At first Ezekiel wanted to ignore him but Ian kept following him. So Ezekiel was literally forced to accept him.

One day Ian asked him about his home and family but Ezekiel stayed silent. Ian patted Ezekiel's shoulder "It's alright if you don't want to share. Dean said that my parents abandoned  me in front of the orphanage. I don't even remember anything about them.  My name is given by the Dean. You know, it's doesn't matter if no one adopts me but..."

Ian looked at Ezekiel and continued "but you are not allowed to leave me. Okay? Pinky promise?"

Ezekiel looked at the boy who is very childish then wrapped his Pinky with the boy's Pinky. "Okay promise."

Ian nodded "yeah. So you don't have to tell me now. But when you feel that you can share then I will be always here for you."

Ezekiel looked at the sunset from the tree they were sitting at. "My parents....My mum was a gentle lady...she loves to play piano...and loves me and dad very much. Everything was going well but...."

Ian noticed the sad aura emitting from Ezekiel. "But...One day....Uncle..he pointed his gun at my mum."

Ian frowned."Uncle? Why did he do that?" He put his hand on Ezekiel's hand.

A tear dropped from Ezekiel's eyes  "Uncle was my dad's close friend. They are both government officials. But he...he framed my father. My father also managed to get evidence against uncle but He...he point a gun at my mum and said...to...choose between the evidence and my mum. Dad choose my mum unhesitatingly but that....that man shot my mum in head and then...then he shot my dad... I was hiding in the closet. My mum hide me away when she saw them coming with the guns. Then....Then I don't know. I was ...was in the hospital and then they sent me here."

Ian listened to him and wiped his tears with his shirt's sleeves. Ezekiel looked at Ian. He didn't see any sympathy in his eyes but a pain.....a pain for him.

Ezekiel reached out and hugged Ian. He cried that day but didn't let go of Ian from his arms.

Ian patted his back gently "I will be here with you."

Ezekiel looked down at Ian who was in his arms with red eyss "For ever?"

Ian nodded and buried his head again in his head "yes forever."

Ezekiel closed him eyes. "Good." But you can see a madness in his eyes when he looks at Ian. He tightened his hug and leaned on Ian. He whispered "I will never let you leave"

Here is the answer for the reason of  gloominess in the Ryan in the first arc.

Luckily Ezekiel found Ian in his life otherwise he would grow up more desertedly than Ryan.
