"There is no way I'm getting out of this alive," I muttered into the phone. A gasp was heard on the other end. "How dare you say something as ridiculous as that to me of all people!" Naomi screeched through the phone.

I blinked.

Did she want me to lie?

"I'm sorry," I bite my lip. I heard her huff, "I should've never gotten pregnant and I should've never left that place." I chuckled. "Naomi, I'm fine. Don't stress yourself out." I pleaded with her.

Now I felt more guilty than ever.

"What's going on, Sloane. You need to talk to me. You can talk to me—I'm still the same Naomi. Even if I don't have my nipple rings in, and I might be sleep-deprived. Half of the time I don't even get to shower. I wear shirts with spit upon them, I'm still the same. Please talk to me."

I frowned, because could I talk to Naomi about the fake dating? He never said that I couldn't tell anyone it was fake. But if I told Naomi, she would tell Matti. Matti would then tell Blake. But I was suffering. On the inside, I was drowning in pain that flowed in me like blood.

I had to regain my composure, quickly.

I couldn't tell her we were dating. Blake didn't give me a yes or no answer, and I wasn't in the mood to deal with him kicking my ass over it. I cleared my throat, "I talked to Caden a couple of days ago." I heard her suck in a breath.

"And?" I had the same question.

"I don't know what his intentions were but I hope it meant that it was a step in the right direction." I heard her groan. "What did he say? What do you mean by intentions? And right direction? Are you kidding me," I placed a hand palm down on my forehead?

"He said that he wanted to be friends and that he didn't want to be on bad terms." I heard her chuckle. "Sloane, you can't be serious." I furrowed my eyebrows.

"How many times did you forgive Matti?" I heard her blow air out of her lips. "That's not the same thing. Matti didn't cheat on me and then proceed to get into another relationship with the woman he cheated on me with." I shook my head.
