“Dad, where do I put this wooden doll?”

“Put it on the table.”

The door was closed gently, and Wei Jin stood in front of the door, looking at the needle in his hand and the little wooden doll wrapped with red string. Reluctantly, he moved his feet and went toward his room.

When Qian Miao heard Wei Jin’s words, she reached out and took the initiative to ask her husband to prick the needle to get a little bit of blood. Since her daughter grew up day by day, she became more and more grateful to her father-in-law. If he hadn’t calculated her daughter’s birth date and rushed over to help her, she really didn’t know what would happen that day.

Qian Miao could only lie in bed during confinement. Because of her father-in-law, she did a careful check on the Internet. Although there were various types, it also made her respect her mystical father-in-law.

Now, thinking back, just after she met her husband’s parents, Wei Mingyan said that they were incompatible with each other. At that time, she only thought that Wei Jin’s father was really just a mystical charlatan, she was so angry that she almost broke up the engagement on the spot. Of course, her attitude wasn’t much better even if she didn’t care. The two of them got the certificate without telling their parents, and Wei Mingyan flew into a furious rage and drove Wei Jin out of the house.

Back then, Qian Miao only thought that Wei Mingyan lacked love toward his child, and he wasn’t really calculating the fortune. He would turn his face without saying anything when they met, just barely maintaining face. Still, Qian Miao didn’t feel that she had done anything wrong. Her husband was kicked out without a penny, and they had to clean up all kinds of bad things left by her father-in-law. She still maintained harmony on the surface, tolerating everything thrown her way.

–But all this was based on the fact that Wei Mingyan was a mystical charlatan without any real ability.

As it turns out, Wei Jin’s father, her father-in-law, was a real master, and his fortune telling was accurate. So then, all the things that Qian Miao resented and aggrieved about… There was an explanation for everything. He didn’t mean to ruin their marriage, but really thought that she and Wei Jin were incompatible. Thinking carefully, as a father, if his son was in danger because of a woman, how could he not stop it? And when the prevention was ineffective, his son still married Qian Miao, how could he not be angry? At this point, how could he even care for this daughter-in-law?

Now, Qian Miao has perfectly reconciled with everything that has happened in her heart. She also quickly gave a reason for her father-in-law to perversely endure his dislike for coming to see her, and for them to come to his house.

All of that was because of Qiqi.

In the past, it was said that the old people live for the following generation, but Qian Miao didn’t think so. However, this time she really saw what it means to live for the following generation.

(TNote: live for the following generation = this means that old people love and spoiled the generation after the next generation/ the “following” generation after their children — their grandchildren.)

Her father-in-law usually displayed a dignified face, or a snorting mocking smile, even a ‘I don’t care if you dislike me’ face. Yet, to her daughter, Xiao Qiqi, he was always gentle and soft. God knows how Qian Miao felt when she first saw Wei Mingyan carrying her baby and lulling her to sleep. Also, his daughter-in-law contradicted him many times before, and they almost had a falling out. If it weren’t for this little granddaughter, Wei Mingyan would never come to visit her.

Treating this misunderstood mystical father-in-law, Qian Miao heart felt a little fear and a little guilt.
