SPOT 46: CHASE

DUEZ.

IT HAS BEEN FOUR DAYS since the incident. Macthara hasn't gained consciousness, but she's rcovering day by day. We still don't know when she'll wake up. The doctor doesn't know either. All we have to do is to wait and be patient.

After the night of the debut party, no one, not even a soul, knew there was something suspicious going on. Only her family discovered about it. But it makes me wonder why they've never took actions to find out who the culprit was.

Paminsan-minsan bumibisita ako kapag alam kong umalis na ang iba. It was all thanks to Allende who looked after her. Siya rin ang nagpaliwanag at nagpaalam kung sino ang nagdala kay Macky o kung papaano niya nalamang nasa ospital ito.

She never got tired of reminding me to never come visit again. Ayaw niya akong naroroon dahil hindi magugustuhan ni Macky ang presenysa ko. But her reasons were pointless. Walang makakapigil na bantayan ko ang aking pasyente. I was the last person Macky saw when she closed her eyes. Now I should also be the first human that her eyes should behold when she wakes up.

Naiisip ko man na ang reaksyon niya pero hindi niyon ako matitigil. Ipinangako kong gagawin nang tama ang lahat. If she pushes me away, I'll always come back. If there's something she isn't telling me, that is she's giving me another chance. Ayaw niya lang aminin pero ramdam ko. Klaro pa sa isip ko ang lahat ng nangyari sa gubat. Her soft kisses and cuteness were the evidence of her love.

Makalipas ng madaling araw noong gabing iyon, nilagnat siya. She kept tugging in the blanket. Even when I turned off the air conditioner, nilalamig pa rin siya. Binanyusan ko ang braso't binti niya nang siya'y tulog. Tinapalan ko rin ng tuwalya ang kanyang noo.

But Macthara will always be the hard-headed, bratty Macthara.

Noong kinaumagahan, wala nang Macky sa kama. I searched every corner of the house, but I've never seen her shadow. The closet was also empty. No signs of her whereabouts. No luggage. No motorcycle. She left me without a word after the night of our first deep kiss. Hindi lang pagkabigo ang naramdaman ko. I felt thrown away. She really is into pitching!

Minaneho ko ang kotse para hanapin siya sa buong siyudad pero sumapit na ang gabi, wala pa rin. Matinding kaba ang gumagapang sa loob ko. Hindi ko nga alam kung magaling na siya.

And what's alarming is that it's drizzling! May bagyong dumating noong kahapong iyon. The downslope roads are damp and slippery. Paano kung madisgrasya siya? She's so stubborn!

I also used my connections just to know where she is. A month has passed and I never saw Macky ever again. Her family were clueless either. Kaya parati akong nakatambay sa harap ng kanilang mansyon, nagbabaka-sakaling bumalik siya.

But I remembered once again that she's Macky. No one can ever change her mind, neither her closest friends.

Bumisita ako sa ospital. Gabi na at madaling araw. Midnight was always the best time to visit her. Pagmamay-ari ng pamilya ni Allende ang ospital kaya nakakapasok ako. Truth is I begged her, and she has no choice. I was only given ten minutes or so. It depends on her mood. Pero lagi iyong nageexceed. I'll always bring purple roses or anything that's colour purple for Macky.

She is already in the recover room. Naka-suwero at may nakasuksok na oxygen sa ilong. I'd always admire her while sleeping. And now I came to visit again. Nang pumasok ako sa kuwarto, nadatnan kong papalabas si Allende. She looked frazzled, but she changed emotion in just a blink.
