🎶AURORA - runaway

Aspen's POV

My alarm went off loudly, but not loudly enough to wake everyone up. I moaned as I wished to return to sleep, but I couldn't do so without facing the repercussions of being punished for being late. I did some stretches while standing up to make my squeaky makeshift bed to relax up my muscles for the hard labour I'd have to do today. I rushed down the stairs, had a quick cold shower, and changed into black ripped jeans and a washed-out oversized hoodie before heading into the kitchen to start preparing everything for everyone except me, of course, because I'm not allowed to have anything unless it's "given" to me.

Oh, this is something I don't like, or this rag looks fantastic on you, so have it.

Grabbing the what to make list, I began making my parents' work lunches, which included a long list of names of foods I probably didn't recognise. After that, I began making my siblings' lunches, which also included a long list of names of foods I probably didn't recognise, and eventually settled on a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Nothing surpasses a classic school lunch, not even those fine meals and drinks, with a worm-out bottle of water for myself. After that, at 6:00 a.m., I start with a traditional meal at this house: loads of bacon, scrambled eggs, 1 sunny side up egg, and a complete loaf of toasted bread served with a jug of Orange juice. By the time I've finished putting everything on the table, Everyone is awake and eager for the day; they ran down the stairs from breakfast, while I slipped out the back door with a slice of toast in my hand.

I'm not finished yet.
This is only the start of my daily routine.

Running to the pack kitchen, we find the normal staff of about 30 Omegas there, and we begin cooking breakfast for the rest of the Crescent Moon pack, which consists of: a lot of coffee Toast, enormous towers of pancakes, bacon, and scrambled eggs are all on the menu.
The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and sizzling bacon fills the kitchen. The muffled sounds of early morning conversations fill the cramped halls by the time we finish setting up the table and I rush out the door, driving to the school building with only 5 minutes before I'm officially late. As I pant heavily into the student-filled hallways with a minute left, the school bell rings, and all eyes are on me.

Silence.. Deafening silence.

Then there's a shout of laughter, a barrage of comments, and disgusted stares from all the girls. All of this would have an impact on me, but... It happens every time I arrive late, and to make matters worst, the professors ACTUALLY DO IT!But that doesn't stop my insecurities and suicidal thoughts from creeping into my mind while watching the show. As I run through the massive bodies, the loud noises continue, and my throbbing headache intensifies its torturous torment on my skull. I finally bash my head into the bathroom door, relieved to find no one inside, and I rush inside the nearest stall to cry out my overwhelming emotions. For the time being, I'll lay my frozen body on the cold porcelain tiled flooring of the calm atmospheric bathroom, with threatening tears in my little hands.

After hitting my head against the restricted area of my present cubicle due to the school's loud bell, I checked my face in the mirror before exiting the bathroom. It was pleasantly comforting and warm to walk along these silent corridors. "I belong with the trash," they say, as I enter the noisily hushed conversational class to take my place in the shadowy obusured corner of the classroom close to the dustbin. Miss Rodriguez hasn't arrived, so I turn to my go-to distraction: I pull out my old iPod and listen to calming, mournful tunes that have kept me from killing myself, as if anybody would notice or even miss me. Someone decides to recognize my existence as I slowly fall and drown in my thoughts, on the verge of fleeing to my dark mind.

"Why don't you just do everyone a favor and die, because you're nothing more than a useless being taking up unneeded space," Audrey said, a lace of poison in every word

To be honest, that hurts a little.

"Not to mention the fact that she's UGLY," Amber added.

That's not the first time I've heard something like that.

"Thank goodness we don't have to worry about her trying her luck with the guys," Amelia said.

Master of the obvious, it's not like they'd answer YES if I tried.

Audrey, Amber, and Amelia Mason, also known as the Triple A's, are Alpha Christian and Luna Cassandra Mason's lovely triplet daughters. Since we went to the same schools, they've always managed to tease, trip, and humiliate me whenever they got the chance. Inside these walls, they've very much made my life a living hell. Audrey is 6'3" tall with long blonde hair and dark brown eyes. Amber has platinum blond curls 6'2" with crystal blue eyes Amelia is 6'3 with wavy black hair and amber brown eyes.

"Why don't you guys just leave her alone for a change?" To defend me, a familiar voice yells.

Landon Myers, son of the Gamma, Jordan, and his mate, Victoria Myers, is that familiar voice. He's one of the few persons that is actually interested in speaking with me. He has dark brown wavy hair, ocean blue eyes, is 6'3 inches tall, and has a muscular build. Basically, he's adorable.

"Geez, grab a hobby would ya, the way y'all are so bored with your life that you take satisfaction in bothering and demeaning Aspen?" Another familiar voice chooses to speak up in my defense.

That voice belongs to Jacqueline Lennox, Daughter of the Delta, Sebastian Lennox, the second person who is truly interested in chatting with me. She's 5'0" tall with shoulder-length black hair and Emerald green eyes.

"Why should we leave her? She hasn't done anything to thwart our plans." Amber retaliates in kind.

Audrey taunts Landon, "Aww, Landon's got a tiny crush on the wolfless chick, how cute."

Landon argues, "Standing up for Aspen against you doesn't mean I have a crush on her."

"Whatever," the triplets said last before Miss Rodriguez entered the room and I removed my earbuds.

Miss Rodriguezez approaches her desk and asks, "Can I have your attention class?"

"Alpha Mason has requested that I convey this message to you because he is too busy to do it formally. As you may be aware, the Royal family holds an annual ball in the hopes of unmated wolves finding their mates, and the children of the highest ranking wolves, as well as the unmated wolves, are invited to attend. Miss Rodriguez rants to the students, "That is all."

I'm not sure if I'll be permitted to go.
