Aspen's POV:

I can still remember leaving the mall and driving back to the hotel. Then a car slammed into us, sending us flying into the air and landing violently.

"Aspen!" Grandma called for me.

I was disoriented and experiencing vertigo from the hit. As I struggled to breathe, my lungs tightened, and an agony erupted in my chest. A broken rib?

"Aspen,stay awake!" Blyke said as she shook me

Although I tried, my eyes gave up.

Although I could hear a faint background beeping, my body was not responding to my brain.Two voices spoke,one I knew was Ares. They were talking about the accident and Derek.

"He's evil" I wheezed out

He ran to my side and held my hand as he  smiled that I  woke up.

"Hey baby" he  said

'Water please '

The man throws Res a bottle and  helps me sit straight before handing it to me.

"Thank Goodness you're awake,he almost died without you" the other person chuckled

'Who's he?'

'My twin,Leo'

'Oh'

I stared at him for a while before waving.

'I need to sleep '

Then my body goes limp.

You know that saying "never go into the light"?
Yeah,well I didn't get that choice as I was already enclosed by it,before it cleared out to a brown coloured room with brown furnishings and all.

"Hello?" I screamed.

Silence.

"Why am I here?" I inquired

Silence.

Since there isn't much I can do here, whatever "here" is, I made the decision to sit on the beige one-seater. I briefly closed my eyes before hearing the sound of a door opening and closing.I opened my eyes to discover a male and female who appeared to be similar. Twins?

The women cheered, "My Queen!"

She was astounding. with dark golden brown hair and arctic blue eyes. She dressed in a flowing silver dress that fit her figure well.

The man however had a sharp jaw that could cut diamonds,rust coloured hair that looked similar to fire and the same arctic blue eyes. with a silver suit on.

"You could be wondering why you are here, who we are, and exactly where you are" the man added.

I nodded.

"I'm Celeste, also known as the moon goddess." She grinned.

"And I'm Caphious, the vampire god and her twin" he muttered.

"You currently in the in-between realm,where you not alive nor dead " Celeste explained

"An evil is growing, and you could be the only one who can stop it. In order to conquer the major realms, specifically the kingdoms of vampires, witches, and dragons, Derek Anderson, the former werewolf king, has been gathering troops. To acquire control, they have started capturing hybrids. Along with the elders who live on the Isle, your family is the last of the powerful people to remain. If Hayden hasn't already fallen for their trap, you might be able to convince him to intervene and prevent his father from succeeding. " Celeste states

"Who are they?" I asked

She snarls, "Derek and Brooklyn."

I could tell there was a wrong with the two.

"How am I going to save us all, then?" I inquired

"Attack the hierarchy, and everything falls." Capious grinned.

Celeste waves goodbye as she leaves.

I was once again in that empty room, very bored. Considering Ares and how he is. of Miles, Grandma, and Mom. Everyone.

Why can't I simply return home?

Home? Where exactly is home? How am I supposed to know whether I have a home when I didn't have one growing up? Safety is Ares. He is love. He is good. He is considerate. Perhaps he is home?

Home is said to be "where the heart is," and I believe that right now, my heart is with him, making him home.

I immediately realized that I loved him. Yes, I love him. But since he believes I am dead, he won't be aware of it.

Am I dead? maybe even alive? What happens if I become a zombie? Maybe a vampire? But I have my suspicions. But since anything can happen, I wouldn't go throw it away.

Argh! Here, even overthinking is tedious. In short, I need my baby and some kiss and cuddles.

Then, suddenly, a door emerged in the distant corner? Even I'm not sure anymore.

White space, bye!

My body and spirit had now become one, and I gasped.

Finally.

Ares was staring at me when I turned around, his face showing obvious disbelief.

I smiled as I told him,words that will change everything

"I love you"
