Aspen's POV:

Phoenix hasn't been here long, but Ares and I have undoubtedly grown closer.

I have to admit that seeing a familiar face helps me feel more at home. There are a few folks I've met here that are warm and accepting, but there are also a few who despise me. The idea that "she's really an imposter" or "she's pretending just to obtain the throne" is prevalent.

Although I was offended by their remarks, I needed to prepare for a date right away.

I searched my closet for the right clothes but couldn't find any. I hardly ever wear anything but sweats and sweatshirts.

My mother shrieked when I informed her about it and quickly dialed one ofher tailer friends.

Mom brought me to a store named Sows of Water on the periphery while we were now shopping for jewelry and other items at Isle Square.

This store was unusual since it looks like a cave when you enter it. A stunning woman emerged from a cave wall that was lined with colorful gemstones.

She had deep ocean blue eyes, sparkling tan complexion, and straight, sleek charcoal black hair that fell to her shoulders. She was wearing a turquoise two-piece with sequences and had a curvaceous shape.

She bowed: "My Queen."

Mom said, "Please, I stated no formalities,we friends."

"I'm Kaimama" she says with a smile.

I waved and said, "Hey."

She says, "We'll let's get you ready."

She motions for me to follow her as she walks directly into the middle of the lilac-colored water. The water turned blue as I approached her and began to slowly suck me inside. I became anxious.

I have a terrible experience when it comes to water.

"Relax"

My body complied with what she said.

I soon rose above the water and glided towards the coast. I rose up and looked down to discover that I was wearing a lovely summer dress in a shade of sunset orange that was perfectly fitted to my body.

Mom sprinted over to give me a bear embrace.

She exclaimed, "Oh honey, you look fantastic."

"Thank you" I said.

When I looked around, I saw Kaimama looking like her.

I hugged her and said, "Thank you, Kaimama."

She says, "Call me Kai, and you're welcome, princess."

We walked out after I bid her farewell. When I turned around, I noticed that the store had vanished.

Mom responds, "She did that specifically for you."

"What do you mean?" I query

"It is known as paraplace. where you can establish a doorway to another location while leaving the current one alone. No one ever goes onto the isle of water," she explains. "When they feel intimidated or approach by someone who is not of their kind, they frequently become aggressive."

I was currently waiting in my room. It was scheduled at 18:00, but I had forgotten. I selected The Originals while browsing Netflix.

The time was 17:50 when I finished watching a few programs, so I got up, stretched, and put on a little makeup to finish the outfit.

When I emerged from the bathroom, Ares was standing there, looking like he might be eaten. He wore a graphic "assassin's creed" shirt and a pair of plain distressed black and white pants.

He said while caressing the back of his head, "You look great."

He's anxious. I'm not the only one, so I guess that's good.

"Let's leave" I extended my arm and walked away.

It would be an understatement to say that we are frustrated after an hour of walking. He made me wear a blindfold so that it would be a surprise.

I'm starting to find surprises to be annoying.

"Okay,1...2...3..!" He cried out and tore off the blindfold.

We were perched atop a hill overlooking the stunning ocean. For us, a picnic basket and blanket were already put out. We sat down and discussed everything and everything, from our goals to the basics.

On our backs, we were gazing at the stars. I told him that while Taurus was his favorite constellation, Orion was mine.

I shivered a little and hoped he wouldn't notice because I didn't want the night to end. Unfortunately, he did and gave me his leather jacket as a blanket before packing up.I stole a couple glimpses at him as we strolled silently the entire way back. We finally arrived at my room,before he said something I had waited for.

"Can I kiss you?" He hesitated.

I nodded.

He embraced me tenderly but passionately as soon as his lips touched mine. Before he broke from the kiss and gave me an adoring look, the sparks and joy overcame me.

That's it. I knew what I wanted.

"Mark me" I said.
