🎶Jorja Smith- So lonely

Hayden's POV:

I've been cooped up in my personal office with mounds of papers concerning the current rouge problem since my run with Marcello, and the pounding headache wasn't helping my mood. Sighing softly, I left my paperwork where it was and climbed out of the huge black chair, staggering towards the enormous glass panel that overlooked the woodland that lay before the gorgeous snow-capped mountains. I became lost in the deep caverns of my consuming thoughts as I stared off into the abyss, pondering the various situations that could occur during the course of each pack's visit. A knock on the oak doors that separated me from the rest of the world jolted me awake. The door swung open and closed gently, murmuring 'come in' lowly. Multiple footsteps reverberated as the hardwood floor squeaked to a halt in an inconvenient location, prompting me to swivel around on my heels only to see my Gamma/little brother on cloud nine and a nervous or afraid-looking black haired female clutching on my Gamma.

Xavier remarked, "Alpha, I'd like you to meet my mate, Jacqueline Lennox."

"Hello, Jacqueline... good to meet you." I gave her a warm welcome.

She stutters, "Hel...Hello Alpha King."

"You can call me Hayden," I argued, "since we are practically family."

"Uh... Hayden, could you elaborate on how are we family?" She enquired.

"I guess he didn't tell you, but Xavier is like my younger brother," I said as I ruffled his hair.

"Yeah, he's a year older than me." He was irritated.

"It appears you've forgotten about me!" Hunter chastised

"And that's Hunter, Hayden's twin, my very dramatic like second older brother." Xavier declares

Hunter bowed and kissed Jacqueline's hand, saying, "Pleased to meet you."

As she fiddles with the hem of her huge trasher t-shirt, she stutters, "Like... likewise."

Xavier growls at Hunter, sensing Jacqueline's discomfort.

Every time Xavier glanced over at Jacqueline, love, adoration, and happiness sparkled like fireflies in his eyes like fireflies. I'm pleased for Xavier and Jacqueline, but I can't help but feel a hole in my stone heart, like if something that should be there isn't. I could feel emotions stirring inside me, but I forced them down since they would make me appear weak in the eyes of an enemy. I can't help but feel like I'm going to be alone forever and I might as well learn to accept it

"Hayden!!" Xavier yells at me, jolting me out of my trance.

"What?" I inquired.

"Are you all right?, you were zoning out for quite some time "Jacqueline enquired.

I lied and said, "Yeah, I'm fine."

"Are you worried?" Hunter enquired.

"Every now and again, I wish she'd just show herself to me," I murmured. "Cause going on like this makes me feel like she's either dead or doesn't exist"

"Just be patient; you'll find her in no time." Jacqueline offers solace.

"But, honestly, do you suppose mine is here as well?" I enquired.

"I believe she is, and if she isn't, we'll go pack to pack looking for her." Xavier added his voice to the conversation.

"And if we don't,then what?" I asked.

"You will, please stop being negative" Jacqueline chimed.

Moon goddess please let me meet her I go on my knees if you want me too maybe it might not be my time for you but I feel like I'm ready

We spent time getting to know Jacqueline Lennox, but honestly I wasn't really here in this office surrounded by all these people but somewhere wondering and I obviously exposed a few, scratch that I spilled nearly all, of Xavier's embarrassing moments. He became enraged, but Jacqueline didn't seem to mind as she continued to laugh heartily at everything, drawing Xavier's daggers. It was getting late, maybe after ten o'clock, River had left a little while ago because he had something to do, Xavier carried Jacy, my nickname for Jacqueline, because saying her full name every time was a mouthful, and they all left, leaving me alone with my thoughts, but I chose to retreat to my room. As I walked towards my bed, a yawn escaped my lips, and I threw myself face first onto the soft Malaysian mattress, nearly falling asleep before Seth intervened

"We can try to find her at the ball"

"Yeah..we have too"

"If we don't, I guess we have to choose a Luna"

"Let's hope we don't have to resort to that option"

"Yeah, I only want her"

"Good night, Seth, tomorrow awaits us"

"Night, Hayden"
