(Today, I will actually be uploading TWO chapters. Mainly because I won't be able to upload an actual chapter on the Tuesday and I also kind of just want to get this segment done. So this afternoon I will work on another.)

Y/N POV

Both me and Dante raced back towards the top of the tower. I still had the woman's rocket launcher slung over my shoulder, intent on using it to finish Arkham off once and for all. We encountered some minor opposition from many of the Demons we had encountered before though we just cut them down without a seconds hesitation.

Eventually, we both arrived at the final stretch of the tower, the same winding path that I walked mere hours ago, which lead me to confront Vergil. However this time, we found our path blocked by some sort of dark, magical barrier.

I turned to Dante and asked "What do you suppose we do here?" Dante gave that typical arrogant smirk before replying "Well, I say we just go through it. Should be fun right?" I sighed and said "Very well. After you."

We both stepped through the strange magical veil and it seemed we were instantly transported to some kind of strange circular room. It didn't take long for things to become concerning though, as I looked down and noticed that both mine and Dante's shadows had both gained glowing red eyes.

The shadows both began standing up and even more surprisingly, they began taking the shape of our own respective Devil Trigger forms. The only difference was that these ones seemed to be build up of pure darkness, aside from their eyes and their mouths which were twisted into sadistic grins.

Dante addressed the two doppelgangers by saying "I know why you're here. You're here to ask me some questions. Well too bad, I've already answered them myself. I don't need you anymore." I was left slightly confused at what he meant.

The doppelgangers drew their own versions of Rebellion and Eclipse before attacking. At first glance, it seemed like we couldn't lay a finger on these twisted counterparts. However it didn't take us long to figure out they had one major weakness.

Surrounding this room there were these strange light sources which initially were closed. What we soon discovered was that if you were to strike these light sources, they would open up and leave the shadow-like doppelgangers completely immobilised, as they thrashed about silently.

From here the 'battle' was easy. We just kept taking advantage of this weakness and it didn't take us long after that to take down the shadow copies of us. Afterwards, I caught my breath before saying "Glad that's over."

A pillar of light that I assumed was our exit, stepping through it, we found ourselves back on that spiralling pathway we were on before. We continued our initial path and sure enough, we eventually arrived at the top of the tower.
