Dante POV

As soon as my eyes opened, I instantly saw V stood over me holding the sword Sparda. As I slowly sat up, he placed the sword in the ground before sitting down himself. I wasted no time joking "For a second there I thought you were gonna shish kabob me."

V quietly replied "I know how stubborn you can be. I thought it might be the only way to wake you." Now that I thought about it, I had no idea how long I'd been out for. I gave V a sideways glance and asked "What day is it?"

Again, V quietly answered "The 15th, of June." I sighed before smirking and commenting "A month?" Standing up again, I stretched before saying "No wonder I'm so stiff." It was at this point V's annoying bird familiar showed up rambling "Right sunshine now put a fire under it. We gotta get going, because that annoying pimple Nero is making a beeline for Urizen. And if he gets there he's gonna-."

I cut him off by grabbing him by the throat and threw him across the large area. He did bring up a good point though, I turned to V saying "Hey, this is my gig. Leave Nero out of this." V also began standing up, "If you could defeat Urizen, then I never would have dreamed of using that child. But Urizen is much stronger than we ever could have imagined.

I thought back to a month ago. Going into that battle, I'd have wagered me, Y/N, Lady and Trish would have all stood at chance. Though V was right, I don't think any of us were truly ready for what awaited us. Then Nero showed up and didn't even last five minutes. I heard V saying "Our last hope Nero, was completely useless."

Again, I remained silent for a moment, thinking back, I remembered being sent flying by Urizen leaving Y/N, Lady and Trish alone with him. What happened after that I was unsure of. And then, as if reading my mind, V turned to me and said "I have news regarding Y/N."

I instantly looked up saying "What?" V seemed to pause for a moment, before he finally asked a question "Did you ever notice Y/N acting strangely, possibly after a battle in which his sword emitted a purple electricity?"

The first thing that came to mind was years ago in Fortuna, after Y/N killed that alchemist guy. He attacked me in a feral fit of rage. I replied "Yeah, years ago after a battle he attacked my. Almost like a feral animal. However he calmed down shortly after."

V nodded and said "I see." I was beginning to grow impatient with how cryptic he was being as I asked "Just tell me, what happened?" Again, V paused, maybe thinking of how to word what he was about to say. Eventually though, he spoke.

"Urizen seems to have also known this. Once you were gone I believe he gave his own blood to cause Eclipse to finally awaken. Y/N's mind was ravaged by the surge of demonic power, his body warped into that of a winged demon."

I asked "And why would Urizen not just take this power for himself?" To that V responded "Because the power Eclipse offers comes at a price. Strength to the body but it takes away from the mind. The more one uses this power to kill, the more it takes over their mind. I've encountered him already, Nero has met him twice. Each of those times he has attacked us without hesitation. Only one managed to get through to him."

I knew who he was talking about so I asked "Lady?" He nodded and said "It was fortunate we found her BEFORE Y/N attacked us. If she hadn't been there, I think he would have killed us for certain."

Sighing again, I leaned back. While on the outside I was still grinning, what happened to Y/N did upset me. When I was younger I'd lost my mother, of course then I lost Vergil which still was sad despite our strained relationship. Then I may be coming close to losing Y/N as well.

I will admit, when I first found out I had a half-brother, I wasn't too thrilled, I expected him to be like Vergil, especially since Vergil was the one who introduced us properly. However after that initial introduction I realized how wrong I was, I wouldn't lose Y/N like I'd lost my mother and Vergil already. I COULDN'T!

I snapped up, still hiding my thoughts behind a smirk before saying "Well where is he? I'll knock some sense into Y/N. That's what big bros are for." V cut me off though, sternly warning "You aren't strong enough." I raised an eyebrow and asked "What do you mean?"

V then explained "When me and Nero fought Y/N, we were no match for him. No matter what we tried. In your current state, I doubt you'd do much better." I rolled my eyes in frustration, he was right. V added "Besides, I'm certain he will show up again soon."

With Y/N needing to be put on hold, there was still the matter of Nero to deal with. He would probably get killed by Urizen. I stated "Well, enough is enough. Can't let a boy, do a man's job." With Sparda in hand, I began walking away.

V said "Wait, I'm not done talking yet-." He tripped and fell on all fours. I turned, looked at him and said "Get some rest, I guess you could say I owe you one." I then turned and began walking away, leaving V in the clearing.

Y/N would have to wait, but I would find a way to get through Eclipse's curse on him...

Y/N POV

I flew towards where Sparda's call originated from. I couldn't feel it anymore yet I still headed to its source. If I was quick enough, perhaps I would still find it there and be able to secure its power and maybe find Dante there as well.

Soaring through the air, I briefly glanced towards the Qliphoth which still loomed in the distance. If I was successful in assimilating both Dante AND Sparda, I would be returning there shortly to fulfil my revenge.

The only reasons I'd left Urizen alone were firstly  because he had been the one to generously grant me this power. And secondly because even if I wanted to, I wouldn't be strong enough to stand against him.

Of course after finding out about Lady, my rage had become more focussed on Urizen himself. I knew Nero and V were planning to stop him, but I wouldn't let them rob me of the glory! I would slaughter the demon king and gain his power for MYSELF!

After flying for a while, I came across the city and demonic foliage for a while I came across where I believe Sparda had originally rested, a large chasm in the ground. I folded my wings and rapidly descended into the chasm.

My feet created a small crater as I landed and I instantly began looking around. Sparda wasn't here now, but it was clear that it had been here at one point. I growled in anger, having just missed my chance by possibly mere minutes.

Even though this place felt seemingly abandoned, I got the feeling I was being watched. My eyes shot around at the surroundings until eventually I shot out a stream of lightning that hit a demon head-on and knocked it into a wall.

The demon was a grotesque fleshy creature that stood on four legs, a giant hand protruded from its back but one of its most defining features was definitely the gold mask that it wore. Not that it really mattered in the end.

More of these demons emerged from holes in the nearby roots and before long, I was surrounded by about twenty of them. A pathetic number that wouldn't take long for me to get through them.

The next thing I knew, Eclipse was manifested in my hand and I lunged forward, flapping my wings to get more force as I ferociously slashed right through the demon I'd hit earlier, killing it instantly.

The remaining nineteen demons all screeched in unison before rushing towards me. I wasted no time firing a stream of lighting from either hand that zapped two of them before swiftly decapitating another one.

I flew upwards into the air, evading all the demons before descending once again in a crescent motion, going down, slicing through about four of the demons before ascending once again into the air.

The remaining demons didn't fare much better after that. As I let out another psychotic laugh, I descended right in the middle of the demon nest and wasted no time hacking and slashing away at them.

Purple electricity shot out all over the place as each demon met their end at the tip of my blade. Eventually though, things died down. All those demons had been vanquished and I was left standing in the chasm regaining my composure.

Suddenly I got the feeling I was being watched once again and just like before I spun around, only this time I pointed my blade at whoever it was. Once I saw their face, I grinned and said.

"Well, what is this, the second or third time we've met?"
