As soon as my feet hit the ground, I looked up and began analysing my surroundings. My eyes widened when I saw that we were in some sort of peaceful field, trees dotted around us and directly ahead was a large mansion-like house. It confused me as to how this place existed seemingly under the Qliphoth or at the top of it as V put it.
Dante landed next to me and did the same, however when he looked around, there was a sense of familiarity in his gaze. I was about to ask him if he knew this place however our focus was instantly drawn to another more important matter.
Urizen stood in front of us, gazing at a tree that was unlike any of the others, while the others looked natural, this one was clearly demonic in nature and hanging from it was a lone piece of fruit that seemed to be dripping blood as Urizen stared at it.
Next to me I heard Dante mutter something that made my blood run cold. "Vergil." So I was right, Urizen and V were both two parts of Vergil? One being the demonic side and the other, the human one? Even if I had my suspicions that only got worse as time went on, I was still extremely surprised at this revelation. The fact that Vergil has been right in front of me all this time put me on edge.
Dante got up and called "Hey! Is that the damn fruit you've been jabberin' about? Doesn't look so special to me!" Urizen ignored him and instead kept his gaze on the fruit in front of him. Dante looked around before continuing.
"Yup, this is where it all started. That mother saved me and left you behind." I turned to him and exclaimed angrily "Dante! Is that necessary?!" Dante sighed to himself before saying "The thing you don't know is, she tried to save you too. She kept searching and searching. Until it killed her."
Urizen didn't even look at us, instead still keeping his eyes fixed on the fruit as he answered "I have no recollection of this tale, or this place. It's all an illusion, created by this extraordinary fruit. Its power you see, is all I ever wanted."
He plucked the fruit from the tree causing me to gasp "No." We both ran forward as Urizen finished his sentence "And with this, I will have everything!" It was too late for us to stop him, he consumed the fruit whole. And that's when things started changing.
A giant crack emerged across the illusion behind us, overlapping the surrounding trees and the mansion in the distance, the cracks expanded and in the centre was a blood-red hole inside of which I do not know and didn't want to think of.
As for Urizen, his body began undergoing changes. The tentacles protruding from his back broke away and fell to the ground and various growths on his body also seemed to snap off as well. Dante spoke up again "No brother, you don't have everything. That last shred of humanity that you still had? You just lost it."
As Urizen's transformation came to an end, he responded "That is nothing but the pitiful cries of those without strength. Come to ME brothers! I shall enlighten you both Dante and Y/N!" He spread his arms out allowing us to finally get a look at his true form.
