JJ leads the way to Kie's house. We're running on our tiptoes, trying not to be noticed, and begging for our plan to work.

Mr Carrera's truck is right outside their home. JJ gets closer to it, and looks through the window, checking both the front and back seat. "He's not in there. We're good." He whispers softly, running and crouching down hiding behind the white fence.

I frown, putting my lips together, "Did you think her father would be in the car?"

My boyfriend shrugs, raising his eyebrows, "It was a possibility." He then turns to Kie, who's on the opposite side, looking for her parents inside the house above the fence. "Are you sure you wanna do this, a little Dad Theft Auto?"

"Oh, boy." I shake my head, biting my lower lip. "You did not just say Dad Theft Auto."

Kie screws up her face, and looks down at JJ weirdly, muttering a no. Her eyes find mine, and she tilts her head raising one of her eyebrows looking at me, "You coming?"

"Yeah." I whisper and nod my head.

"All right, here we go." JJ reaches his hand over his head, grabbing the door handle and opening it for us. "Go, go, go, go, go." Kiara goes first, and I follow her close behind. JJ smacks my ass softly when I pass through the door, making me smile to myself while shaking my head slightly.

Kie and I climb up the stairs to her front porch, she hesitates, standing in front of the crystal door. I put my hand on her shoulder, giving it a squeeze, and she looks at me above her shoulder before inhaling deeply, "Okay." She breathes out.

As soon as she opens the door carefully, her parents' voices sound from somewhere inside the house. Kiara tiptoes to the sideboard, which has several bowls. I remember the keys are always on the one next to the edge, with some other stuff Mr Carrera keeps in there.

Kiara stops, her hands drop to her sides, I glance at her with a frown, seeing her face fall, and the corners of her mouth curving downwards. I follow her eyes, and my heart shatters in a second for her.

Anna and Mike are having dinner, laughing and looking happier than ever. Kie keeps staring at them, and I don't know what to do, I don't know how to help her.

"Kiara-" I say in a whisper.

"I'm okay." She cuts me off, coming down to Earth again. She grabs the keys from the bowl, trying to not make a sound, and when she has them, we walk back outside of her house.

We run outside, before her parents could notice us. JJ has been waiting for us, and as soon as he sees us, he opens the gate again. Kiara throws him the keys from behind me, and he rushes to open the door to the driver's side, getting in a rush, while I beat Kiara to the passenger seat. She ends up sitting in the back with a groan.
