"Chioma," Ebenezer called her as we stepped into Davis' house. Chioma walked past him. What was going on? Were they arguing?

"Since when did this happen?" I asked Ebenezer.

"Few weeks before the exams." Too long.

"What happened?"

"Scolded her for speaking during assembly." I grinned before chuckling. I tapped Ebenezer's shoulder.

"Settle this before we leave tonight." I walked away. She must be sad since she and her best friend weren't speaking.  Chioma could keep grudges. But she also forgets easily.

☆Chioma

"Oh, Chioma you came." Rhema grinned at me. I just smiled.

"Came with Buchi." He scrunched up his nose.

"Who cares if he came?" He scanned me head to toe. "You look stunning, as always."

"Thank you," I said.

"No need. I'm stating a fact. You're the most beautiful female I've set my eyes on since birth." Amusing.

"Really? What about the models and actresses?"

"Them? Please. You're better by far. Believe me. That's why you shouldn't let anyone degrade you to what you're not."

I laughed. "I won't. Why are you telling me this?"

"Creating awareness. Just be aware. Know your worth." I touched my hot cheeks. "You're priceless."

"Oh, Rhema." I giggled. "Thank you."

"Thank me with a hug?" He spread his arms. I hugged him. His words just lifted my mood.

My mood was a bit downcast because of  Eben. Since that day, I decided to never speak to him again. Childish, I know but I also wanted to know how far I can go without talking to him. And I've stayed a couple of weeks without doing so. But I miss my best friend. A lot.

"Do you want to dance? With me?" Rhema asked offering his hand. I placed mine on his and he pulled me closer. We shook to the rhythm of the music. I was even whining on him. But we stopped when we heard chanting.

"Davis! Davis! Davis!"

"Sylvia! Sylvia! Sylvia!" I looked to where the chants were coming from and saw some seniors sitting in a circle. In the middle were Davis and Sylvia making out. They didn't even mind the chanting and they were almost lying on the floor continuing their makeout session.

I was feeling very sad. I looked away from the scene. Wish them happiness in their relationship. My eyes were stinging. "Chioma," Rhema called.

"Hmm?"

"You..." He looked at me then his eyes went to where they were. "Like senior Davis?"

"Only a crush," I replied.

"It can't be. And your face is this way?" What does he mean by 'it can't be'? "Chioma, do you even know what you feel? You like him. It's more than a crush." More than a crush. Ha. He must be kidding. I've never had more than a crush on anyone.

(A/N: Can't help but marvel at her level of naivety.)

"It's a crush." He smiled.

"You'll realize how wrong you are soon." He patted my head.

"Rhema," Bisola walked to us but hugged Rhema. I raised my eyebrows in surprise.

"What?" He pushed her away.
