The Druthers

Background: You have been best friends with Sarah for most of your life, despite being a Pogue. So when she doesn't come back from going to see Wheezie you get worried and go after her. JJ tells you that it is a bad idea and tries to stop you, but you go anyway. This takes place during Season two Episode six.

Y/n POV:

Sarah left a few hours ago to go and talk to her sister, she promised that she would come right back. I am starting to get worried about her, I mean Ward and Rafe are capable of god knows what. I can't just sit here anymore, I have to do something.

I sat up in bed, pushing JJ's arms off of my waist carefully not to wake him. I knew that if he knew I was going to look for Sarah that he would try to stop me, but I needed to go. I quietly grabbed my shorts and one of his shirts off the floor and opened the bedroom door. I thought that the creaking from the door was going to wake him, but he just flipped onto his back, still fast asleep. God even sleeping, he looked so beautiful.

I made my way to the pouch where my shoes were and slipped on my clothes and shoes. Kie and Pope were both dead asleep on the pullout inside, so I wasn't worried about waking them. I grabbed my phone off the charger on the table and quickly sent a text to JJ for when he woke up.

I thought I was in the clear when I walked down the stairs of the chateau. I made it about ten steps before I heard the screen door open. Shit, someone caught me. I just hoped that it wasn't JJ. I slowly turned around to see no one other than my blue eyed boyfriend rubbing his eyes at the light coming from the sunrise.

"Y/n?" he questioned, his voice was still thick due to the fact that he just woke up. "Where are you going?"

Clearly the boy hadn't had time to check the message I sent him. This was not going to end well.

"I... ummm" I hesitated before I said anything, knowing exactly where this was going to lead.

"I am going to look for Sarah" I said as I exhaled a breath I had been keeping in. That clearly caught his attention, because JJ's posture changed completely. He stood up and his eyes went wide.

"What do you mean go look for Sarah? She said that she would be back in the morning." He questioned, making his way down the stairs and over to me.

"I know ,but JJ what if Rafe or Ward got to her. I mean it is plausible. We both know what they are capable of" I began to ramble, but he still was having a hard time understanding.

"Babe, she's fine okay, not just come back inside and we can wait for her okay?" He said as he grabbed onto my arm leading me back into the house.

I know that he just wanted me to be safe, but I needed to do this. No, I was going to do this, whether he wanted me to or not. I pulled my arm out of his grip, which caused him to turn around with a puzzled look.

"No JJ, I am going to look for her." I said as I turned around again.

"Y/n get back here."

I just kept walking, I could feel him following behind me.

"Y/n, I'm serious come back here"

JJ reached for my arm once more and I swiftly turned around facing him, knowing that he wasn't going to stop.

"No JJ. I am going and you are not going to stop me" I said with a stern look on my face. I tried to meet JJ's gaze, but I knew if I did I would melt.

"Y/n you said it yourself Ward and Rafe are still out there and they are dangerous" He put his hands on my shoulders stopping me from moving, desperately trying to get me to look at him. I made sure that my eyes stayed glued to the ground. "Baby if you go out there you are going to get hurt. Sarah is a big girl, she can take care of herself"
