Third Person POV:

Y/n, John B and Sarah were huddled together on the phantom trying to get away from cops chasing him. The storm was getting worse and worse and the only option for them was to go into it.

All Y/n could think about was the last conversation she had with her best friend.

Flashback:

JJ helped y/n on the deck of the phantom, ushering her and John B to get going. He knew that it was only a matter of time before the cops caught up with them. He wanted y/n to stay with him, but he knew that she wasn't going to leave her brother.

Y/n hopped onto the boat, rushing over to help her brother get out of there. She didn't want to leave her friends, but right now there was no choice. She had to protect her brother above everything else.

The group of friends exchanged some words about the plan before they reminded the twins that they needed to get going. As they were about to leave y/n stopped her brother from pulling out from the dock. She hopped off the boat and ran over to JJ, yelling at her to get back on the boat. Before he could say anything else she planted her lips on his. To say he was surprised would be an understatement. He quickly kisses back, not wanting to leave feelings unsaid.

Once they parted, both with huge smiles on their faces, JJ kissed the top of y/n's head and motioned for her to return to the boat. She rejoined her brother and off they went. John B knew about both of their feelings for each other, but he respected the fact that neither were ready to tell the other.

JJ and y/n's eyes never parted. They kept the focus on each other until they couldn't see each other anymore. Both letting a small tear fall from their face, as the love of their lives faded from view.

End of flashback

Y/n held on to Sarah as John B talked with Ward. Before he could finish the radio went to static. This was it, they were in the middle of the storm and no way the phantom was going to make it through. They all held on tight to each other. John B put his hand on his sister's head pulling her close and pulling Sarah in by the waist with the other hand.

As they went over the wave, the boat tipped sending them into the water. The last thing y/n thought about was JJ. His beautiful smile staring at her, she hit the water with a smile on her face. He was her everything.

JJ, Kiara, and Pope waited for any news concerning their friends. Shoupe made his way into the tent, shame written across his face. He made his way over to the teens. Telling them that their friends didn't make it.

"So they're dead?" Kiara asked, her voice was plague with sadness.

"We don't know," Shoupe responded.

Screams broke out from JJ and Pope. Telling the police in front of them that the twins were innocent. That this was their fault. Soon enough Pope and Kiara were engulfed by their parents' warmth. JJ on the other hand was standing alone. Cold. Staring out at the storm that had taken his best friends, that had taken the love of his life. He was frozen in pain. All he wanted was for them to be there and embrace him.

JJ stood there waiting for his family to come back to him. All he could think of was the last moment he shared with them. In that moment he wished he had told y/n how much he loved her, instead of just letting the kiss say it.

Now he wasn't going to get the chance. Now he was alone.
