Puppy

JJ had been having a hard time lately, home has been really hard. On top of dealing with his dad, JJ has been working his ass off to make sure that we have enough money. I can't thank him enough, so I decided that I was going to surprise him.

JJ had been talking about getting a dog for a while now, so I figured that I would surprise him with a puppy.

I know that most people would think that getting JJ a dog wasn't the best idea, but I have no doubt that he will be able to take care of one.

I already ran it by John B since JJ spends most of his time there anyway.

I pull into the pound, I figure that JJ would want a mutt.

I walk in and they lead me toward all the dogs that need to be adopted.

I walk down the hallway and take my chances trying to get to know the dogs.

The first one was really cute, but as soon as I walked over to pet it the dog started barking up a storm. I could just tell that would get on JJ's nerves very quickly, he isn't the most patient person.

The next puppy isn't potty trained and I have seen JJ pee in the woods one too many times to think that he would be able to potty train a puppy. And I know that I don't want to have to do it. Plus I think John B would kill me if I got a dog that peed on his floors.

I go through dog after dog, nothing is clicking though. I started to get worried that I wouldn't find a dog.

Then I get to the end of the hallway. The last puppy in the pound was the cutest little golden retriever ever.

I read the file and it said she was potty trained, never really barked, and she loves the water.

I think I found one.

I ask the lady to open the stall, and as soon as I go down to pet the dog she jumps up on me like she has known me forever.

"I'll take her" I smile at the lady and she nods and goes to grab the paper work.

As soon as i get her in the car, I go straight to the chateau. JJ should be home from work by now so this is the perfect time.

I open the car door and put the puppy on her leash. I can't wait for JJ to meet her.

We walk around the back, and I find JJ in his normal spot. He was laying in one of the hammocks with his eyes closed. So I decided the best way to introduce him to his new puppy was to let her lick him to death.

I pick up the puppy and carefully walk over to the hammock, I place her down on JJ's chest and she starts licking his face.

"What the -" JJ almost leaps out of the hammock

"Woah a puppy" he smiles as he starts to pet the dog.

"Who do you belong to?" he coos to the puppy in his lap.

"You" I smile as he looks over at me with a confused look.

"What?" He questions

"Surprise" I smile

"You got me a puppy" He beams, this is better than I thought

"Yep" I smile as he leans in to kiss my lips.

"You are literally the best girlfriend in the entire world" JJ mutters against my lips

I smile as we pull away and go back to playing with the puppy.

"So you gonna give her a name" I ask, JJ looks stunned as if he has no clue what to name her

"Ummmm, I have no clue" JJ shrugs, I let out a little laugh.

"Well you have fun figuring it out" I say as I leave him with the puppy. I walk into the house and take a quick shower.

When I come back out JJ and the puppy are sitting on the couch watching tv.

"You figure out a name yet?" I ask as I plop down next to him, and start petting the puppy.

"I was thinking about Bonnie," he says, almost laughing.

"Bonnie?" I question the old choice.

"Yep, then we can get you a puppy and name him Clyde" He beams

I can't help but smile at him, of course he wants two dogs named Bonnie and Clyde. He always joked that me and him were like bonnie and clyde.

"I could get down with that" I smile running my hands down his back.
