Y/N POV:

"JJ I don't know about this" I say as we walk hand in hand toward the tattoo parlor on the boardwalk.

"Awe come on Princess, it's gonna be fine. I promise it's not going to hurt" JJ smiles as he opens the door to the place.

I take a deep breath and walk in and he follows. Last week I told JJ about the tattoo I was thinking about getting, but that I was a little nervous to actually get it. But of course he thought the idea was brilliant and told me he would get one with me.

JJ walked in front of me and up to the desk to tell them that we were here.

I stood behind him picking at my nails because as much as I want to get a tattoo I really don't like needles.

JJ turned back to me with the biggest smile on his face and noticed my anxious state. He places his hand on my shoulder and I look up at him.

"It's going to be fine, I promise. How about I go first and I'll prove it doesn't hurt" JJ says softly

I nod and we follow the tattoo artist back to his station.

We both had already picked out what we wanted before we came so JJ handed the guy his reference photo and they got to work.

I sat next to JJ and held his hand, not that he needed it, but because I wanted to. JJ wanted to get a flying bird right on his hip, because he said that it was a symbol of him being free to be the man he wants to be and not the man that everyone expects him to be.

I can't help but smile when he is all finished and admiring his new tattoo in the mirror. One he looked fine as hell with his new ink and two because I am so happy that he feels free. He deserves that.

JJ turns around with a smile on his face "Okay pretty girl, your turn" JJ says as he guides me over to the chair that he had just sat in.

I take a deep breath and sit down. I want to get a tattoo ankle, I am getting a lighting bolt. It's a kind of symbol about how the people who have passed are touching down to earth. Plus when I was young my dad used to sit on the porch with me and we would watch the storms on the water. After he passed I knew that's what I wanted, it's a reminder of him.

JJ sat down in the chair next to me and grabbed my hand, I looked over at him and smiled.

Soon enough the guy got started and I honestly don't know what I was so worried about cause this doesn't hurt that much.

That didn't stop JJ from telling me how good I was doing through the whole thing. This boy really is the sweetest.

Once I was done I walked over to the mirror and smiled. It looked perfect.

"I love it" I whisper to myself. JJ came up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist, kissing my cheek.

"It looks so good princess" He tells me as we both admire our new symbols in the mirror.

I wrap my arms around his and we stand there for a few more minutes before we head up to pay for the tattoos.

Once we finished we left and decided to walk down the boardwalk a little more. We finally stop at the edge of the pier and sit down.

"You were right JJ, this was totally worth it" I say as I lean my head on his shoulder.

"Yeah it was" He smiles and wraps his arm around me.

"How about next time we get matching ones" JJ suggests. "You know since I plan on spending the rest of my life with you" JJ kisses the top of my head.

"I would love that" I say, nuzzling father into his chest.

"Which part?" JJ questions chuckling a little.

"Both" I say turning to face him, his eyes are so perfect. I can't wait to stare into them for the rest of my life.

JJ leans in and slowly kisses my lips, when we pull back I smile and lay my head back on his chest.

"Good" he says as we stare out at the ocean. Moments like these are my favorite because it's peaceful and it's just us.
