The entire class stood huddled in a small room underneath the arena as they waited to be called on. Everyone was tense, most fidgeting with their fingers as they attempted to talk themselves into calming down.

"Midoriya," a voice called, bringing all chatter to a stop.

"To- Todorki-kun," the greenette stammered nervously, automatically sensing a threat.

"Objectively speaking, I'm stronger than you," the half and half boy began. "I have a stronger quirk with more experience. I will defeat you."

"Hey man what's up with the war declaration?" Kaminari asked, to which Kirishima stood up and went over.

"We're going on soon, no need for infighting guys," he soothed, only to be rejected instantly.

"We're not here to play at being friends," Todoroki snarled, slapping Kirishima's hand away.

"I know," Midoriya mumbled. "You're stronger, by a lot, but everyone is going to go out there and give it their all. I will too."

'Introducing: U.A's Hero Course, Class 1-A! These guys have been through a lot...' Mic droned on, most of which you tuned out.

"That's our cue," you nodded, turning to Todoroki. "Just know this. In a competition, there can only be one winner. Everyone wants that position, so we're all going to give our best. Rivals or not, we're all enemies from this point on."

With that, you walked out, your class right behind you as you made your way into the arena, the crowd cheering as soon as your class appeared.

"I forgot how big U.A was, look at the people here," Yaoyorozu gasped.

"Just two weeks ago, these buggers were blocking our hallway," you scoffed.

'Some expressions there, clearly everyone's determined!' Mic yelled as both yours and Bakugo's faces briefly appeared on the screen.

It wasn't long before all the students were in the arena, facing the stage, waiting for something to happen. Midnight walked on, cracking her whip, stunning a majority of the crowd as she made her grand entrance.

"Good morning students, heroes and parents!" She smiled, announcing through the mic. "Before we can begin with our festival, we need to do the player pledge. And this year's representative is Bakugo Katsuki!"

A majority of your class cringed as the blonde was called up to do the pledge, well aware that all that he'd do was provoke the other students.

However, you watched intently, interested in how it would play out.

"I just wanna say," he began, standing at the stage as he scanned over the crowd. "I'm gonna win."

The students around you broke out in panic or fits of rage, each yelling at Bakugo for his rude demeanour.

"At least bend down and be stepping stones for me to jump off of," he scoffed as he made his way down the stairs.

"How extremely unnecessary," you drawled as he passed you. "Yet you still provoked them because you were scared someone would underestimate you, is that it?"

He instantly turned around, setting off small explosions in his palm as a threat.

"Do it," you smirked, watching his explosions fizzle away. "You can't."

The boy scoffed, stuffing his hands in his pockets and walking off.

"And now, for your first obstacle!" Midnight continued, bringing up a machine that would decide it. "Obstacle course!"
