Silvia's POV
I suck in hot desert air and roll onto my back, opening my spinning eyes, I'm dizzy with a different kind of magic.
I wait for my senses to come back to me, and then I roll onto my side and ungracefully get to my feet, trying not to fall over.
As I regain my consciousness, the black magic seeps out of my ears and I can finally see straight again. I listen for signs of life, but I hear nothing.
I had to find Carmen.
I run through each room of the temple, but I can't find her.
"Carmen!" I scream, "Where are you? Can you hear me?"
"Oh my God! I'm down here! Help me!" Carmen screams from underneath the temple floor, "I can't see anything! I'm in some hidden dungeon!"
"There's no staircase!" I scream back.
"I have no idea how I got down here! I'm so scared, help!"
"I'm coming, just give me some time to work it out!" I yell back. Carmen was close from the sound of her voice below, so I walk to the nearest wall and start to peer over the stones, looking for any kind of noticeable difference.
As I'm searching, I realise I'm looking at the walls when I should be looking at the ground.
Not too long after, I find scratches along the stone floor where the door slides outward.
I press on the wall in that place, and it easily starts to sink in one area, and pushes out in the other.
"Cleo...?"
I've only opened the door an inch, when a deep growl echoes through the temple from the entrance, nowhere near me, but signifying his return.
Anubis has returned with his pack, and he is calling to his Fairy who disappeared.
I didn't see her anywhere when I searched the rooms before, so I assumed she went with him. So where was Cleo? Oh, well. Not my problem!
I stay still as I listen to the sounds of claws clicking along the stones, and then I slowly slip into the gap of the wall. I look down a flight of stairs that lead to a cell – and I grab a hold in the stone to pull the door shut, inch by slow inch.
I try not to make a sound, and I manage to shut the door without any noise... but in return?
I'm kissed by the pitch darkness.
I turn around and all I see is black.
"Shh," I call out to Carmen with the warning, letting her know I've found her.
I hear her breathing quicken, but she keeps her excitement to herself.
I slowly shuffle forward, following the wall with my hand, I go down the stairs one at a time.
"Where are you?" I whisper.
"Right here," Carmen whispers back, and I hear she is right in front of me, a few paces down.
"CLEO! Where are you?"
We both stop breathing when that cry from an angry Lycan seeps through the stones above us, echoing through the temple.
He's right above us.
We couldn't talk anymore.
I get down to my knees and feel out in front of me for Carmen's ankle, and I follow the chain to a lock I can't break just yet. I check the rest of her and it's only both her ankles that are shackled.
