Affection;

Chen Ming’s girlfriend(no, ex-girlfriend) wore high-heeled shoes and walked away resentfully.

Zhou Nan looked at Chen Ming, who was staring with dead fish eyes and moving his jaw, and wondered if he should ask what had happened. He sat down next to Chen Ming and waited for the latter to speak.

He never expected to sit for hours just like a statue. When it was getting late and the playground was closed, he got up and slowly walked out.

He’d been treating Zhou Nan as if the latter didn’t exist.

Zhou Nan had never been in a relationship, so naturally he didn’t understand the pain of a broken heart. But seeing Chen Ming was so upset, he felt the same way.

On the way back to the flower shop, Chen Ming passed by a grocery store and bought two bottles of white spirit.

Setting a small table and opening the wine, Zhou Nan was certain that Chen Ming was trying to drown his sorrows. He plucked up the courage to ask, “Chen Ming, do you love her?”

Unexpectedly, Chen Ming actually asked rhetorically, “Is there a point in asking that?”The entire glass of liquor was drunk in one go. His furrowed brow almost made Zhou Nan feel the pain as it entered his throat.

“So it makes sense for you to get drunk?” Zhou Nan was not willing to show weakness.

Chen Ming angrily slammed the small glass on the table, “Leave me alone.”

Zhou Nan sighed helplessly, “Tell me what happened.” It might be good to say it.

Chen Ming laughed at himself, “Are you trying to laugh at me?”

Zhou Nan replied seriously, “I’m not that annoying.”

Chen Ming snorted and ignored him, continuing to drink his own wine.

Zhou Nan had no other choice, so he just watched as Chen Ming drank himself to the point where he was red in the face.

Wine was a good thing that could make a lot of people tell their secrets. After gulping down a bottle and a half, Chen Ming was drunk and talking a lot. He finally couldn’t hold back and said, “Her name is Bai Yiyi, we met two years ago.”

Zhou Nan rested his chin and sat across from Zhou Ming listening intently.

“She chased me. Whether or not there were feelings… I can’t say, but I agreed to it. Thus we have come to this point today.”

“You said the… ah no…” Zhou Nan was about to say something but eventually didn’t, “What’s the matter with the old man?”

Chen Ming leaned forward, his fingers rubbing his hair. He sighed heavily, and his voice was hoarse, “A few weeks ago, I caught her in an old man’s car. I convinced myself that it was her boss and forced myself to forget about it. When I saw her bag today, I felt something wrong, and then I saw those cosmetics again… What can I say? It isn’t something she could buy.”

Zhou Nan was dumbfounded, unable to think of what to say for a moment.

Bai Yiyi was indeed beautiful, and Chen Ming was perfectly worthy of her. He was a handsome boy, with a tall nose and nice eyebrows. If one got used to the way he spoke, it wasn’t hard to see that he was actually a kind and interesting person.

So… was it really a matter of money?

The sudden crash disturbed Zhou Nan’s thinking and he looked up, only to find that Chen Ming was already lying at the table.

“Chen Ming?”

He was still and said in a muffled voice, “I’m really tired…”

Zhou Nan’s heart pounded as he listened to Chen Ming’s grievance.

One person, two jobs, day and night, half for money and half for life.

He suddenly understood the reason why Chen Ming was so stingy – money was important, and so was life, so Chen Ming regarded money as life.

Whether this word was positive or negative? Zhou Nan couldn’t figure it out for a moment.

“If you’re tired, take a break and get some sleep.”

His words were no longer answered – Chen Ming was lying down and sleeping.

“Hey, wake up! You have to go to bed anyway!” Zhou Nan floated over to him and patted him lightly on the cheek, still getting no response.

Zhou Nan looked at the bed not far away, and then at the young man beside him, wondering if he could drag the man up.

Just forget about it.

Chen Ming grunted and moved, as if looking for a more comfortable position. The attractive curve of the back neck caught Zhou Nan’s attention. He leaned down and pressed his face close.

Why did he do this? Zhou Nan didn’t know.

He swallowed and suddenly realized that his previous assessment of Chen Ming seemed earnest.

It could be summed up as… good feelings.

The warm and slightly alcoholic scent spread over his face. Zhou Nan did not dodge and enjoyed the smell. He got closer, and his lips touched the tip of Chen Ming’s ear, as if some residual warmth remained, giving some vitality to him- a half-dead ghost.

If he had a heart, his heart would be pounding right now.

Zhou Nan was straight.

This thought struck him like lightning,  making him straighten up as if he got an electric shock. He moved away from Chen Ming.

Chen Ming slept soundly, completely unaware of how Zhou Nan felt now.

Zhou Nan didn’t dare to stay in the house any longer for fear that he might do something too stupid. He quickly walked out of the room and stood in the doorway, counting the stars to calm himself down.
