74. Die a Violent Death?

Chen Ming gasped and goggled in a daze, putting on a surprised look. But of course, he faked it.

“Let me guess, maybe the ghost outside has a broken neck, a sunken skull, a body covered in blood and a face beyond recognition, am I right?” he teased.

“No”, Zhou Nan answered seriously instead, “the ghost looks normal.”

“So from what you said… A ghost came to visit us in broad daylight, and even dressed up like a gentleman, could this be possible?” Chen Ming had no choice but to get out of bed, “You must have mistaken it.”

“I haven’t!”

Chen Ming didn’t listen to Zhou Nan’s protest, pulled the door open and already had put on a smile, ready to make apologies. But when he saw the person outside, he finally believed Zhou Nan’s words–indeed, the man looked exactly like Liu Ming.

However, Chen Ming was not as impulsive as Zhou Nan, and he carefully looked the person up and down. He wasn’t wearing the suit coat so maybe he left it somewhere. The shirt cuffs weren’t buttoned, and the hair gel was seemingly done in a hurry because some hairs were standing on end.

Thinking of the polished and neatly dressed man in the news photos, Chen Ming was keenly aware of the difference in their temperaments, so he asked tentatively, “May I address you as Mr… Liu?”

“Yes, I’m the second son of Liu Family , my name is Liu Qi.”

Zhou Nan was dumbfounded.

“Are you twins?”

Liu Qi nodded.

Actually, there was no ghost at all. Chen Ming hastened to apologize for Zhou Nan’s impoliteness, “This is a new kid in our flower shop, he reads those mysterious ghost stories all day, and he carelessly confused you with your brother.”

Liu Qi waved and told Chen Ming to forget about it.

Chen Ming was a true businessman. In just a few seconds, he finished estimating the wealth of this man. The son of a big boss naturally wore designer suits and a watch worth several hundred thousand yuan. And the limousine parking on the street was probably his too. Now that a fat cat was here, by no means would Chen Ming let him go before ripping him off.

“We were sorry to just know about your brother’s death on the news. Are you here to get wreaths, shrouds… or something else?”

Surprisingly, Liu Qi shook his head and whispered, “None of them. Let’s get inside and have a talk.”

Things that needed to be negotiated inside were generally not routine businesses.

Chen Ming raised his eyebrows, immediately understood, invited him in, and closed the door behind him.

With Zhou Nan’s presence, Chen Ming looked totally different from usual–he sat on an old rattan chair like a master, sipping the tea served by the “new kid of flower shop” with ease. Only after Zhou Nan glared at him when the guest wasn’t noticing did Chen Ming realize that he would have to serve and compensate the real master after this .

Liu Qi skipped formalities and asked directly, “Can you release souls from purgatory if they died a violent death?” People who suffered unpleasant deaths usually had deep grudges. Only after being released would they follow the ghost soldiers to the Underworld, otherwise they would become ferocious ghosts.

The dead person that Liu Qi mentioned could only refer to Liu Ming who fell from a tall building to his death. But the news said it was suicide. Then how could it be a violent death?

Having been in this business for a long time, Chen Ming knew that he shouldn’t inquire too much at the beginning. So he just told himself to keep an eye on it and said nothing. He thought maybe it was the typical kind of dispute in rich and powerful families.

Zhou Nan was full of doubts too, but luckily he understood the overall situation, so he stood there silently.

“A piece of cake.” Chen Ming said as he snapped his fingers, “But how much will you…”

The man stretched his forefinger and made a “one” gesture.

Chen Ming would have quoted 2,500 yuan. But he thought that a rich person as Liu Qi should not offer a cheap price as low as ten thousand, so he guessed, “Ten thousand yuan?”

“One hundred thousand.” The man said.

This was not just for fun.

Zhou Nan’s eyeballs were almost falling out, and even Chen Ming tried hard to restrain himself from showing his surprise. He had short dry coughs, “It’s a lucrative offer. I have no reason to refuse it.”

As the saying goes, risk and profit exist side by side.

Seeing that Chen Ming accepted the offer, Liu Qi passed a bank card across the table and said, “There is 50,000 yuan in this card, which is a deposit. The password is on the other side.”

Chen Ming really wanted to abscond with the money–50,000 yuan was enough for him to squander for some days. In his mind, an angel and a devil argued for a while, and finally the angel prevailed so he persuaded himself to forget about his crazy idea.

“So…” Chen Ming took out a pen and paper, “Please leave me an address. I’ll come around when I pack…”

“Don’t bother, I’ll give you two days to prepare. I’ll send someone to pick you up then.”
