Asahina took a seat on Togami's hospital bed, careful to avoid touching his legs. Her eyes were glossy, her phone held in one hand limply.
"I watched your speech," Togami said, moving his good hand to rest on her thigh. Her lips curled into a frown. "It was impressive. Thank you."
"No," she shook her head.
"You did a good job."
"They wanted Makoto,"
He chuckled. "Everyone wants Makoto." He caught her eye, clearing his throat before looking back to the card at the side table. "Even I do."
"Does he know?"
A smile curled at his lips. It didn't reach the eyes that were glazed over and icy blue. "It's best if he didn't."
