levi is going to be so confused

Hanji, Petra, and I had arrived home nearly an hour ago and I had been pacing around the bedroom ever since.

HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO EXPLAIN THAT I ACCIDENTALLY SPREAD A PREGNANCY RUMOR

"I'll go get you something to drink," Petra quietly excused herself, shooting a concerned look my way.

"Thank you," I murmured, turning to look out the window.

SPEAKING OF LEVI-

"Hanji, how long has it been since Levi left to meet the first princess?"

it wasn't supposed to be anything long-

"Almost two hours now," Hanji glanced down at her watch and then back up at me. "Don't worry I'm sure he just went to visit the King while he was there, he's an efficient person."

i know that but-

"At the expense of the people around him."

"What was that?"

"Nothing."

he's stressing me out-

what if he needs saving?

what if the first princess decided to be even more drastic because of what we did-

"Hanji I think I'm going to sit in the garden, wait here for Petra to return, and then bring her to me?"

"Sure thing," she nodded, leaning back in her chair. "Have fun."

ill try- i have a lot to think about

"You two should go relax, we've been doing things all day I'm sure you're tired," I waved goodbye, making my way towards the gardens.

i can't wait for summer in the duchy- i'm sure that the gardens look wonderful

i can't wait to go back home

this place is nice but there are too many people

i mean i really didn't intend to start that rumor

and clearly im struggling if levi being away for a little longer than he was supposed to is freaking me out

I looked up at the sky, the pinks and reds of sunset slowly coloring the patch I could see through the clouds.

i wonder what they're talking about-

i trust levi- i know that he loves me

but i can't help but feel a little anxious about what he might have to do because of that

i don't think that he would betray my trust

im worried that he might sacrifice too much

i guess i can't really say much

i would do the same

i just don't have much i can sacrifice

"God this is so stupid," I muttered quietly to myself, laughing slightly at the absurdity of it all.

i mean seriously this is something that happens in a book

it's unfair that it's happening to me

i just want to keep to myself

apparently that's too much to ask

"My husband leaving me to talk to the woman who wants to tear us apart."

"I had to."

"I know, that's the stupid part."

"We can always turn around, there's no need to keep doing this," Levi's footsteps drew nearer as he moved to stand over the place I was laying on the ground.

"I want to, I just hate that we have to." I looked up at him, his face framed by the now purples and blues oncoming night.

"You're going to get grass stains on your dress if you keep on laying like that," he frowned slightly, crouching down to brush the hair out of my face. "It's alright, we're doing this together, those shitty royals don't stand a chance."

"Come lay with me?" I rolled over slightly, making room for Levi.

"I'm going to get grass stains," he complained, joining me nonetheless.

"What did you talk about with her?" I found his hand, intertwining our fingers together.

"Stupid shit," he grumbled at the thought of it. "Evidently news of what happened in the park didn't reach her while I was there, she just wanted to check in and make small talk."

i can't believe i was worried about that

"Why was I worried again?"

"Because you're a good person."

i don't think so

"Are you flirting with me?" I rolled over, beaming at him.

"Maybe, do you like it?"

"A little."

"You should like it a lot more, I heard a rumor that you were pregnant."

"Really?"

"I hope this isn't how I hear about important news."

do you want a kid?

"It isn't."

"Care to explain how that rumor got started?"

"Well I went into the city with Hanji and Petra and some people overheard our conversation and got the idea that I was expecting-"

"That's not a horrible thing, the rumor is in our favor, it also makes it look like we came to the capitol to announce a pregnancy and not to save face."

everything is falling into place

"They're going to be so sad when they realize it isn't the case."

"I'd hate to let everyone down-" he continued to tease.
