The Olson's were an older Swedish couple
Imigrants, new to our neighborhood
We met them at a neighborhood gathering
They were very nice folks, but very open people
Most Americans are much more guarded, secretive, private
When subjects came up, regardless of the topic, Sven would take the lead
He had a more European slant on politics, religion, education, even birth control
He had his perfect solution
Sven was about 5 foot 6 inches tall
Olga was 6 foot 2 inches tall, a big Swedish woman
Sven explained, in the old country, ya, we were very practical and economical with our birth control method, for shore
Before the "pill", Sven explained, we used the bucket method, ya
Olga is much taller than me, ya
So I would stand on our bucket, ya
Then we would do the okie-dokie until I was ready, ya
I would say "Olga, dear, I'm ready", ya
So then dear Olga would kick out from under my feet
The bucket, ya!
