Spark On The Rail

Small sparks light the rails as the air-wash swirls trash aroundp
Grounds shakin
The metal giant hums, booms, rattles, squeaks, and squeals
A constant clack, clack, thud come from pounding wheels
Speed pushes air to whoosh upward carrying loose weeds and leaves as if alive
Creating flying swirls that sway nearby bushes with ease

Then it's voice
Long and short notes in a harmony phrase
Is it a warning?
A greeting?
Or a horn section creating a feeling?

A curious mystery always travels with the powerful
This power creates wonder and danger
Alas, a good definition for excitement

It's the same feeling every time the ground shakes
It wakes my body, opens my mind, whispers in my head,
"I am alive"
Like that spark on the rail.

I feel the stirring air, I vibrate like all matter near
Hear the harmony there, sing along with its ground shaking song
That's what and should be how a well lived life must feel
A small spark of light between rail and wheel

I'm alone here, experiencing what feels like something just for me now

A powerful whoosh of leaf filled air washes over me as I stand there facing it, staring at invisibility
And like the nearby bushes, I. Just. Sway.
