𝕿he Astronomy tower. The place where I daresay we had our first civil conversation on Sirius' birthday this year, the third of November. It's weird how it's only been two months that we have been friends, settled our truce, it feels a lot longer than that, I feel like I've known him much longer- or been this close. I quite enjoy his company around, it's kind of like having someone that understands me like i've said before, I almost feel different around him. Like I can be myself instead of Mallory Grindelwald who has a reputation to uphold. With Sirius i'm just me, Rory.

I'm not sure why he wanted to meet in the Astronomy tower, but I went anyway after curfew, trudging through the hallways and avoiding Filch and Mrs Norris- although I would just tell him to leave me alone anyway or cast a disillusionment charm on myself and be on my way. I hummed gently, being careful not to trip on the steps like I did the other week, finding the boy stood against the railing, with a cigarette in between his lips as he stared out over the dark night, the stars hanging brightly in the sky. I approached quietly with a smirk on my face, appearing beside him and voicing,

"You look different"

"Bloody hell, Rory!" He gasped, jumping and whirling his head around to me after dropping his cigarette, a chuckle escaping my lips from my reaction, his eyes rolling, "Don't scare me like that"

"Oh so I can scare you in other ways?" I teased with a raised eyebrow, the boy narrowing his eyes playfully at me with a scoff, "Who did them?"

"Who did what?" He muttered, furrowing his brows, my hand reaching up and tugging on one of his two dutch braids on his hair, his mouth drawing an 'o' shape as he answered,

"I did"

"You know how to braid?" I repeated, his head nodding slowly in confirmation, "I refuse to believe that. One of the girls did them, who was it?"

"Why are you so insistent on knowing?" He queried confusedly, gazing down at the snow haired girl as she lit her own cigarette beside him, her hair blowing in the wind giving him a glimpse of her earrings he likes, "Is Rory jealous?"

"No, Rory is not jealous. She is curious which is not a sin, Sirius" I recalled, inhaling the toxins, before breathing them out and blowing them into the cool air, the long haired boy turning to me, leaning his side against the railing as I kept my gaze forward.

"I did them, Andy taught me when I was younger because my hair was long and when I was being a child it used to get in my eyes, so she taught me how to plait. Though, one time my mother said I looked like a girl and forbid me to do them again because they're not manly, but I say now fuck her because I look fucking good with my braids in" He commented, my lips turning upwards, shrugging my shoulders when I passed him the cigarette,

"I wouldn't say good. Foolish, that's the word" I grinned, his nose wrinkling up, pushing me away from him before sitting down on the floor of the tower, patting the seat down next to him, "I'm not the bloody dog, you are, Snuffles"
