𝕽egulus fought the urge to roll his eyes as he entered the Slytherin girl's private dorm, finding her reading a History of Hogwarts book with one hand, the other caressing the fur of the shaggy black dog snoozing on her lap.

He kicks off his shoes, trudging over towards the bed as she raises her head to offer him a meek smile, humming quietly when he sat besides her, leaning against the headboard as he gestures down to the dog that's his brother, mumbling,

"I didn't take you for a pet owner, Mallie"

I snorted at his words, passing him the book to hold carefully as I scratched Padfoot's ears, the both of us biting back chuckles when he sniffed, leaning further into my touch with fluttering eyelids. He barked suddenly, causing Regulus to jolt, sucking in a harsh breath and hissing when Padfoot opened his eyes and looked straight at him with something i'm assuming as a 'dog smirk',

"You fucking idiot, don't do that"

"Yes, Snuffles, be a good boy now" I playfully nodded, grinning down at the dog as he looks to me, my grin fading as I wrinkled my nose up when he snuck further up my body, resting his large paws on my shoulders and nuzzling his wet snout against my cheek before cheerfully licking, earning a snicker from the tousled haired boy.

"I don't know whether to laugh or be disgusted to be honest. I think i'll choose disgusted" He decides, reaching over to flick Sirius' floppy ear before studying the page I was previously on, quirking an eyebrow as he read, "The relics of the Hogwarts founders, I assumed you would he reading about dark magic, love"

Padfoot growled at the use of the nickname, though fluttering his eyes again distractedly when I scratched by his ears once more, planting a kiss on his head whilst answering nonchalantly,

"If they interest me, they'll interest him. Most believe it's a made up tale, like the one of the three brothers. Obviously, we know better, it all exists"

He hummed in agreement, waving his wand to summon one of my blankets to cover his legs as he murmurs, "Salazar Slytherin's locket could already be in his possession then, as he's an heir"

"Or he's already hidden it somewhere" I shrugged, tilting my head back against the headboard whilst ignoring the dull ache in my bones from the weight of my dog, continuing, "There's no way of knowing. If he's made horcruxes, we can only guess what he's concealed his soul into..and they could he hidden absolutely anywhere. It's a mess"

"I didn't expect any less, he's managed to make himself a Dark Lord for a reason, he's clearly not stupid. There's no doubt he'll have widely spread them out too, by the time he would know you've found one, he'll know to guard the others with more security...."

Sirius shifted back into himself, still laying on top of me as he glanced between us, twitching his nose as I fixed his raven locks, listening as he sighed,
