You know, there's only one way to feel about finding out you have powers: to feel excited. Except if you have no idea how to use them.

Like I was.

"Okay," I said looking over my hands. It has been a few minutes since that encounter with that dog creature, and I spent them calming myself down enough to do this. "Let's give it a try," I said putting my hand forward.

I began concentrating as hard as I can. Mainly because that's all I can do right now. I had no muscles to stretch or clinch at the moment being made of wood and all.

I visualised my hand growing and pushed it forward. And, slowly, it started growing just like I imagined. It got longer and larger, and branches began growing out of it.

"That is so cool and weird," I couldn't help but say out loud as I pulled my hand back and watched it return to normal. "What else can I do?" I asked as I looked around and saw a little sapling growing near one of the trees. "Hmm... maybe I can..."

I walked up to the little sapling and knelt down. I raised my hand and focused. Was I being hopeful? Definitely. Did I care? Not really.

But my hopes were rewarded as the sapling started growing much, MUCH faster than normal. I only stopped when I felt the branches touch my hand.

"Neat! I can control plants," it sounded kind of useless when I say it like that, but that's actually a pretty useful ability. Especially in the middle of a forest. I turned around and walked up to the pond again to look at my reflection. "Guess there's something good about my situation," I said looking at the monstrous reflection. Picking up one of the rocks near the water, I held it in my hand. "Sad I don't have Elemantor's original power with his looks. I would have loved to-"

Just as I was saying that, something strange happened. The rock I was holding melded into my ski- er, wood. I jumped back slightly in shock, but that was nothing compared to what happened next.

My body changed. The wood all over my body suddenly turned to rock. Every part of it. I looked around myself and there was not a sign of wood anywhere.

I felt... heavy? It was different from being a tree, and my limps didn't let out that squeaking noise. Instead, they started letting out the sound of rocks grinding on each other.

"Holy shit! Did I just change elements?!" I asked looking at my reflection in the water and saw a monstrous face made of stone looking back at me. "Can I... Can I change back?"

Just as I thought of that, my body started changing again. The rocks turned back to wood, and the squeaking sound was back when I moved. I tried to think of rocks, and I changed to that form again.

"That's awesome! I can change elements!" This is seriously amazing. I looked at the pond again, but not at my reflection. I was looking at the water itself. "Hmm... can it work?" I thought as I slowly dipped my hands into the water.

I tried to think back on the time I absorbed that rock, which wasn't hard since it happened a few seconds ago. The feeling of wanting to be other elements and bonding with them.

Slowly, I felt something. My hands started turning to water as was the rest of my body. Sure enough, my body became completely made of water.

The empty slits that my rock and tree form had for eyes were now glowing. Probably to show off where my eyes are. I stood up and looked over myself. My body now would let out the sound of rippling water on movement.

It was very weird to have a body you can actually see through. My body's water was blue, but still clear enough to see what's on the other side.

"This is so awesome!" I couldn't help but cry out, pumping my fist in the air.

The bright side of my situation started getting brighter.
