In which she meets your family (1)

Listen to: Pretty Girl - Clairo

You didn't want to admit you were scared. But you were absolutely terrified.

You've been dating Jenna Ortega for around 18 months. It was the most perfect 18 months of your life. She's your best friend, and the love of your life. So, you decided that it would be a good time for her to meet your family. I mean, you met hers, and they loved you, so you thought it would be fair.

You haven't been living with your family for 3-4 years, but you visited them often. It was your youngest brother's birthday, and he wanted you to come home for a bit. Your immediate family knew you were dating someone, but not knowing who, actually, your older sister knew but you made sure she kept it a secret. A few of your cousin's had an idea, but you refused to answer any of her questions. Your extended family, however, didn't really know you were into women.

Now, the thing with your extended family, is that they can get a bit judgy, and loud, when tipsy. It was your brother's 18th birthday, since he was the baby of the family, and since he can now drink, it was going to be quite the party.

So, here you two were, on a flight back to your hometown. Well, home-city. You were preparing her on different facts about your family and making sure she knew the name of each one of them. They were pretty laid back, but you were scared because you have never even brought a girl to a family party. She just laughed at you the whole flight.

It was out to the public that Jenna was in a relationship with a girl, most fans being 98% sure it was you. You didn't know if you hoped your family was part of that 98 or hoped they had no idea Jenna even existed. It was probably the latter, but who knows.

Surprisingly, when you and Jenna got off the plane, you two weren't bombarded with paparazzi and people asking for pictures. You called your mom, letting her know that you were at the airport. You held hands with Jenna, not wanting to let go of her.

She leaned to you. "Are you okay? You have death grip on my hands." You glanced at her, laughing nervously. You relaxed your hand, feeling bad.

"Sorry, I'm just scared." You muttered.

"Shouldn't I be the one who's scared? I'm the one meeting the family." She made you laugh, you bumped her shoulder. "It should be fine, right?"

You shrugged, a lot more relaxed. "I don't get drunk with them often, but they're fine, just loud." You sighed. "I know my family would love you, not too sure about the rest of them, but my siblings would love you, and my parents just want me happy."

"That's what's important, right? That you're happy?" You shrugged, agreeing. You both managed to get to the end of the airport without anyone coming up to either of you. You saw your mother's car, waiting for you guys. You pointed it out to Jenna, leading her to the car.

You knocked onto the window, causing your mom to jump. When she saw that it was you, she rolled down the window. "Y/n! Hi, how are you?"

"I'm good, how's everyone?" You asked, Jenna just hid behind you, not wanting to interrupt the two of you.

"They miss you," She saw Jenna behind you. "Is that your girlfriend?" You nodded with a smile, you pulled her closer to you.

"This is Jenna. This is my mom, Jenna." You introduced, you watched as Jenna awkwardly waved and said hi. You can tell she was a little nervous. "Could you open the back?" The two of you made your way to the trunk of the car. "Don't worry about my family, I'll do most of the talking." You reassured, putting your bags away. You closed the hatch, and grabbed her hands. "No matter what happens, I love you, and I know that the ones that do matter will love you." You paused. "That was a bit harsh, but still." She just giggled pecking your lips once more.
