In which you fall in love at the lodge (3)

Listen to: Nothing Compares - The Weeknd

Since the two of you slept outside on the lookout, you've been together almost all the time. Obviously, the two of you split off to do things with your respected friend groups, but majority of the time, you two would be out on your little "dates" and have the time of your lives together.

The two of you would go out snowboarding, learning that Jenna is terrible at it. You would also go and watch the movies in the theatre, often making jokes and giggling. You've also been to the arcade, winning each other little toys and stuffed animals, this is where Jenna realized that you are a terribly sore loser (rage quitter). You and Jenna also went to the hot tubs, seeing how huge they are, you two would splash around, often causing a disturbance. You showed Jenna all of the secrets this place has to offer.

All this time together, yet you never confessed your feelings. However, as the days go on, your fear of rejection becomes lower and lower, but your time was ticking.

Your posts together have made the internet absolutely feral, thank god the service was terrible.

Here you were, on your bed, wondering to yourself.

How could I confess to Jenna?

You thought of bringing her to the hot tub, but that feels really sexual.

What about out on the lookout? Nah, too cold.

You could do it at the arcade? But there's too many kids.

Sleepover? No, because she's probably gonna ditch you.

It frustrated you, how could you not think of the perfect place?

So, you called up Madelyn and Maddie, Jenna's best friend. Quite a coincidence they have similar names.

"We're here!" Madelyn exclaimed, barging into your room. You jumped from your bed, they scared you.

"Do you two have the keys to each other's room or something?" Maddie asked, following right after her.

"Yes." You answered, as the two jumped onto the bed beside you. "So, I called the two of you here to help me." They both looked at you waiting for you to continue. "I need to tell Jenna how I feel." You hear them let out noises of excitement.

The three of you brainstormed, figuring out what would be perfect.

However, Jenna already had a plan.

She knew you loved to bake, and there was a kitchen she showed you. It took her a while, but she managed to find the place, she even memorized where it was. When Maddie told her she was going to hang out with you for a while, she took it as time to start baking.

You were so frustrated, you almost cried.

Which Maddie had to coax you out of.

By "bringing" you food. She was really trying to get you to leave your room, so that Jenna could commit to her plan and not pussy out. "Maddie, where are you taking me?"

"To get food!" She had your wrist in deadly grip. "You needed to get out." She found the kitchen that Jenna was in, and shoved you inside. She and Madelyn blocked the doors so that you don't escape.

You stumbled into the kitchen, turning to the doors. "What the fuck!" You yelled, startling Jenna. You heard sounds, so you turned. "My bad- Jenna?"

"Y/n? What are you doing here?" She saw Maddie out of the door window, smirking. She glared at her. "I thought you were with Maddie?" Her heart thumped, she wasn't ready.

"Yeah, I was, until she forced me here." You grumbled, crossing your arms. You noticed that she was baking. "What are you cooking?" You walked closer, seeing her eyes widen.

"Uh, cupcakes?" She answered, hesitant. You looked at the tray, which had something.

"Those are cupcakes?" You teased, making her hit you. "Ow! Seriously, what are those?"

"Cupcakes!" You just stared at her in astonishment.

"Those," You pointed at the tray. "Are cupcakes?" She let out a loud groan. "Hey, relax. I'll help you. What's your recipe?" She pointed to a sticky note, making you furrow your eyebrows. "Let's use mine."

You took the lead, having her do some small tasks. She was really nervous, her stomach flipped every time you grabbed her hands and helped her. But each time you smiled at her, it calmed her down. "You good?" You asked. "You're like really tense." You saw her freeze, and tense up even more.

"I'm good." She muttered, it sounded like she was holding a breath. You furrowed your eyebrows and nodded, you didn't believe her. You saw the container full of flour, and had a small idea. You smirked to yourself, grabbing a handful. "Y/n, what are you doing?"

"Nothing." You mumbled, your voice going up a few pitches. She just kept on looking at you, suspecting you of something. You turned around, your hands behind your back. "What? Don't believe me?"

"Why are your hands behind your back?" She asked, a little scared of you.

You shrugged. "No reason." She nodded with her eyebrow raised. She went back to looking at the cupcakes in the oven. "Hey Jenna!" She turned to you just as you threw the flour, hitting her square in the face. You let out a loud laugh, seeing the powder all over her face.

"Y/n!" She exclaimed, her mouth dropped in shock. Which made you laugh even more. She grabbed one of the terrible looking cupcakes, it hitting you in the face. Since it was still a little raw, it spread all over your face.

For the remainder of the cooking time, you and Jenna just threw different ingredients at each other, causing a huge mess inside the kitchen. You even wrapped her in your arms, catching her off guard, giving you the ability to crack eggs into her hair. Maddie managed to snag a video of the two of you. Actually, she still was videoing you two.

The oven beeped, causing the end of your little food fight. You grabbed the cupcakes and put them onto trivet. Jenna was still laughing at the fact that she managed to get food dye on your face, which has a (literal) splash of green. You rolled your eyes at her.

"Why bake cupcakes?" You asked, grabbing one and eating it. You just looked at her, waiting for an answer.

She hesitated. It was now or never. "I have to tell you something." Anxiety rose inside your chest as you thought of the million possibilities. You merely raised an eyebrow, waiting for her to continue. "I like you. Like a lot."

"I like you too." You responded, your heart dropping. She knew you liked her and was probably rejecting you.

"No, y/n, like I like you romantically." Your eyes widened, in shock. She closed her eyes, bracing herself for impact. "You don't have to like me back, you know, I made those cupcakes as a little way to-" You cut her off, kissing her. She tasted like eggs and cacao powder.

You pulled away, a little scared. "Was that okay?"

"You taste like vanilla, like literal vanilla." She pointed out, making you let out a huff.

"I wasn't the one that poured vanilla into my mouth." You argued.

"It's okay, you taste good." She cooed before pulling you in for another kiss.

The two of you had gotten in trouble for creating a big mess, so you cleaned it together, sneaking in kisses.

From then on, you two were together, making the most of your time in the lodge, even having big friend group dinners, which were a pain for the waiters (don't worry you guys tipped them very well!).

You had been here so many times, having wonderful memories here, but you couldn't deny the fact that this trip was the best memory you could have of this place.
