In which you were interviewed about advice

Listen to: THE SHADE - Rex Orange County

"So glad to have you here on the show, y/n." Graham greeted as you sat down on the couch along with Florence Pugh.

"Thank you so much, it's such a pleasure coming here." You smiled, leaning back onto the couch.

The three of you fell into the familiar ways of an interview. Graham had his cards where he would ask a question, and someone would answer. You managed to get a few laughs out of the crowd.

"Now, y/n, people like to say you're amazing with advice." Graham started, making you huff.

"I would not say I'm amazing, but I try."

"Well, no, remember that one time I called you about a date idea not too long ago." Florence cut in, patting your thigh at the memory.

Your face made an o shape as you recalled when she called you in the middle of the night. "Okay, that's something completely different. Look, I just tell people things and for some reason they listen to me. Somehow, things haven't gone south, and I'm hoping it stays that way."

"We're all wondering, what's the best dating advice? You seem to manage to date a lot of the so called 'a-listers' that people got people wondering, what's your secret." The crowd roared, making you laugh as you looked between Graham and the camera.

You let out a chuckle before thinking of your answer. "I really don't know how I do it, I kinda just- you know, sometimes it kinda just happens?" It sounded like more of a question than a statement. "I kinda just like..." You trailed off, shrugging.

"Really? You just-" He shrugged like how you did. "That's how you do it?" You let out a giggle, shaking your head.

"I don't know what to tell you, Graham, I just let it happen?" You clicked your tongue before you spoke again. "I'm very much a live in the moment type of person, I try not to worry about the future and make the most of the present. People are like attracted to that happiness, because-" You used your hands to make your point. "Because if you base your happiness solely on someone, it won't be successful, because you want that person to add onto your happiness. You need to be on your own a little, you know? Independency. And anyways, being single is okay, just as long as you're making yourself the best version of you." The audience cheered as you finished your mini rant, making you laugh.

"That was very well put." Florence congratulated. "And you still say you aren't good with advice."

"It's the truth!" You argued, playfully.

"Now, there are a few paparazzi sightings of you with someone." You nodded, grabbing your drink. "Care to explain to us what is going on? Are you dating someone new?" You choked on your drink once the picture appeared. It was of you and Jenna Ortega kissing on a balcony. "Quite romantic is it not?"

You kept on drinking your drink, pretending not to notice, making the audience erupt with laughter. "I don't know what you're talking about..." You pretended, looking away. You flushed but smiled wide. "I don't know what you want me to explain."

"Who's up there with you?" Florence asked, squinting at the photo. "That's a terrible angle, I can't see anything."

"Well, it's my girlfriend." You looked at both Graham and Florence, both shocked. "Of a year or so?"

"You're dating someone?" Florence exclaimed, slapping your shoulder. "Why didn't you tell me!"

"I did tell you! Why else would I bring Jenna around so much."

Florence made a face of realization. "Oh, I thought you were dating someone else." You both looked at each other before letting out loud laughs.

"Jenna who?" Graham asked once the laughter died down.

A smile remained on your face at the mention of your girlfriend. "Jenna Ortega."

"Like the new Wednesday Addams?" You nodded eagerly. "Sorry, you said you've been dating her for a year?"

You looked up as you did the math in your head. "A little more."

"Tell me, what's going to happen in the next scream movie." Florence asked quietly, obviously as a joke. You made a face before huffing out another laugh.

"No? I'm not like Tom, I don't spoil." You shrugged as a bunch of 'oohs' oozed from the crowd. "It's true."

"Are you planning on popping the ring anytime soon?" Graham asked, hiding his face with the cards. You just shrugged, pretending not to know.

You crossed your arms. "It's a surprise, no ones gonna know. I also have to get approval from all her siblings." You pretended to make a face. "I have so much planning to do." You lied. You already had it all planned out, you were just waiting for the right moment. You were going to take it day by day. You both already had thoughts of marriage, small bring ups every now and then, and you both were living together already.

"Well, too bad for all the ladies that were waiting for you, you're gonna be off the market forever." You shrugged once more.

"That really does suck for them. But I love my girlfriend, so."

You got home, airpods playing music into your ears, chewing berry-flavored gum. You locked the door with your head bopping as you quietly hummed along. You turned to see your girlfriend with a big smile on her face, a smile automatically coming onto yours as you pulled her in for a hug and giving her a soft kiss on the lips.

You tried to pull away, but she kept you close, not wanting the moment to end. You smiled into the kiss, holding her by the waist as her arms were around your neck. She pulled away, smacking her lips. "Do you have blue raspberry gum in your mouth?" She asked, making you laugh as you started chewing again.

"Yeah." You peaked the gum out of your mouth, bringing it back into your mouth to continue chewing. "I got it at the gas station on the way home, you want some?" She shook her head, grabbing your hand and pulling you to the living room.

"So..." She trailed off.

"So..." You mocked, making her hit you playfully. "I don't know how people didn't know about us, it was pretty obvious." You mumbled, wrapping your arm around her shoulders. You turned on the TV, she leaned onto your chest comfortably.

After a few minutes of watching some show that you put on, Jenna spoke up. "I love you so much." You looked at her with a confused smile, it always made you giddy when she would say I love you.

"I love you too. Are you okay?" She nodded with a bright smile, her dimples showing. "I'm going to marry you one day, I swear." You muttered, kissing her.
