"Shape Shifted"

____________

"This is supposed to be my lunch break."

----------

Casey was sitting in the abandoned railway car with Derek, when footsteps came running down the stairs into the bottom of the building. Tye, Beatrice and Talia were all closest to the doors and they were snarling, claws out as they stared at the doorway.

"Derek? Derek? Derek!" The three of them relaxed at once, when they saw that it was only Isaac Lahey. But only to start panicking all over again, once they smelled his fear and his clear fear and panic, all over him.

Casey put the gun back in her hip holster and she glanced at Derek, whose eyes had begun to start shining red at the noise from Isaac. "What's wrong?" Derek asked, calm as usual despite the obvious emotion and distress coming off of Isaac.

"My dad. I think he's dead." Casey turned to look at Isaac, as Derek came out of the shadows and he looked at his newly bitten Beta.

"What did you do?" Derek asked at once and Casey looked back at Isaac, as Derek moved to stand next to Casey.

"That's the thing. It wasn't me." Isaac said and Casey whistled quickly, two low notes. Tye, Talia and Beatrice all came over and Casey looked at them.

"Do you three know anything about this? If you don't, Beatrice, could it be a member of your pack?" Casey asked and Beatrice shook her head.

"No way. My alpha keeps us locked down tight, she doesn't even really allow us to go to school until we have it under control."

"Tye?" Casey asked.

"No, no way." Tye said and Casey looked over at him, before she nodded a little bit and she looked at Talia. "Talia has been with me since early this morning, we went for a run to patrol the Preserve." Tye said.

"Derek?" Casey asked.

"They did. I told Tye, just to take Talia with him." Derek confirmed as Casey sighed. "I guess that Deputy badge is going to come in real handy tomorrow." He said and she nodded.

"Yeah, it sure will." Casey muttered.

Casey was one of the Sheriff's deputies that came onto the lacrosse field to help retrieve Isaac, who looked scared all of a sudden and Casey remembered that it was a full moon.

"We're just going to ask you a few questions, all right?" Casey asked and Isaac looked at her, and she swiftly was able to recognize the look of a scared and cornered animal. "Sheriff?" Casey asked and after confirming it was all right to do so, she took Isaac to her cop car. "Isaac, just try to stay calm." She said quietly.

"How do I do that?" He asked.

"I will get you out of the station before the moon rises and if I don't or can't, then you can be damn sure that Derek will be able to. Just stay calm." Isaac nodded at Casey's words.

Casey had to drive her own police cruiser back to the station, as Isaac was in the back of the Sheriff's and she stopped at the sight of Derek sitting in his car. "Shit."

Casey got out of her car and walked over to him as he rolled down the window. "Can you get him out before the moon rises?"

"I'll do my best, but I'm not a lawyer." She reminded him as Derek nodded. "Jackson told the Sheriff something in the office. Derek, I don't know what it was that he said, but somehow, I don't think that it will help Isaac's case." Casey murmured.

"Keep me updated if you can. Tye is going to be handling Talia, Beatrice is with her own pack, I'm in control and Scott will without a doubt, he will have Stiles with him." Derek said and Casey nodded.

"I'll see you before moonrise, ideally." She murmured.

Casey was currently fighting the two hunters that had been disguised as new Sheriff Deputies and she was fighting them both, trying to knock the wolfsbane out of their hands. One of them was taken out by her, but the other was more skilled and his gun smacked her across the head.

Casey staggered briefly, which gave him the precious time that he needed to throw her onto the ground.

Casey felt stickiness on the side of her head and his boot slammed into her rib cage, as Casey cried out in pain and she felt something crack in her rib cage.

As he drew his foot back again to hit her again, something flung him away. Casey coughed and she looked up to see Isaac, as her vision was clearing and she was backing up. "Stiles." She said as she was pushing him back behind her.

Isaac took care of the other hunter easily and now, he was lunging forward and he was going straight for Casey and Stiles. Derek's roar echoed through the room as Isaac backed up in shock at the sight, as now Casey was leaning against the wall and she was holding her side as blood trickled down the side of her head from being hit with the pistol.

"Good timing." Casey muttered and she shook her head, holding a hand up. "Get Isaac out of here. I-I will explain the situation." She murmured and Derek nodded slightly. "Go!"

Casey looked at Sheriff Stilinski, who immediately was speeding right, right over to her at the sight of her head. "Branson?" He asked.

"I'm all right, Sheriff. He, over there. He just attacked me. Whipped me with his pistol and then, his boot got me hard in the ribs. I don't know what set him off, sir, but Isaac managed to get out of his cell. He took care of the deputy and he ran off. I don't know what happened, Sheriff." She said and Sheriff Stilinski looked at Stiles. "I was attacked and Stiles hit the fire alarm, to cause him to get distracted and to find help." Casey said and winced as Sheriff Stilinski looked closer at the head wound.

"Stiles. You get driving. You drive Branson to the hospital. Get going now, right now!" Stilinski ordered and Stiles was nodding in a hurry as he motioned to Casey, as they were both walking down the hallway.

"Why did you just lie to him?" Stiles asked.

"Derek was a person of interest before when you and Scott, got him arrested by us. If I mentioned him back there, then I would have a whole new set of problems to deal with." She said and he nodded. "Now, just get me to the hospital, will you?"
