"Damnatio Memoriae"
_______________________

Beatrice was sitting silently next to the Nemeton, thinking to herself as she was noting the lack of bodies around it.

"Did Hayden tell you about what she saw last night?" Theo asked, clearing his throat and he walked casually into the clearing a bit and Beatrice was shaking her head as she stood up.

"Yeah, she did. I thought that it may have come here, like all supernatural creatures do, at some point or another. But I guess, that if it really is a Chimera... Then it isn't supernatural at all, it is just science." Beatrice noted and she was scanning the ground. "If you told me what it was, it would be easier for me to understand, what the hell is actually, now going on, in this hometown of mine." Beatrice said and he looked at her.

"You ever hear the legend of the Beast of Gevaudan?" Theo asked and she nodded. "They have been working to resurrect it, since far long before your family, the Hales even ever settled here, around the Nemeton." Theo noted and she was looking around.

"They succeeded." Beatrice realized and Theo nodded a little. "They have been working to bring back the Beast that slaughtered close to five hundred people and... and they have just been using teenagers to do it." She said and he nodded. "Were you responsible for the death of your sister?" Theo looked surprised at the question.

"Where did that question come from?" Theo questioned and Beatrice merely lifted her eyebrows, at him. "I didn't kill her, the hypothermia was what killed her." He explained.

"Yeah, but you found her and you didn't call for help. All you did, was stand there as she begged for you to help her. But, there was something you needed from her. To become a genetic chimera." Beatrice said and she was shaking her head. "Tara was your closest genetic match for a transplant." She said.

"You really are a hell of a lot smarter than other people ever give you credit for." Theo said and she shrugged. "You aren't just going to go running to Casey?" He asked.

"You were ten. What the hell is the department going to do? Go back in time and arrest your younger self, for a murder?" Beatrice asked very much sarcastically. "Maybe, I'm just a little bit more like my parents, than I ever want to admit." She said and he was shrugging.

"Your parents? You mean, Peter Hale and the Desert Wolf? There are much worse parents to be like." He said and Beatrice scoffed.

"Like whose?" Beatrice asked and Theo thought about it for a second before he nodded a little.

"Yeah, fair enough. I guess that, I didn't really think those words all the way through." Theo said as Beatrice's phone rang.

"Casey." Beatrice said quietly and she sighed reluctantly now picking up the phone call at the sight. "I'm busy right now, can I call you back?"

"No, kid, you can't. Are you just going to pretend, like you're not looking out for the last Chimera already with help from Theo, of all people?" Tye asked and Beatrice glanced over at Theo, as he was raising his eyebrows. Listened in on the phone call. "He's listening in on this call, right now, isn't he?"

"What is the point of this, Tye? I am trying to find whatever the hell, that this last Chimera is." She said and he scoffed.

"Are you just trying to find it on your own because your supposed "alpha" is telling you too, or, is it because you want to keep us out of it because you want us safe?" Tye asked and Beatrice hung up the phone, swiftly shutting off her ringer.

"Why the hell are you looking at me like that?" Beatrice asked and she was walking past him, back toward the area that she had left her motorcycle in.

"You're not as good as fighting off your werecoyote instincts, as you try to pretend and act like you are." Theo noted as he followed her.

"Yeah? Well just try to remember that my life was rather straightforward until you and your stupid "Dread Doctor" friends showed up and threw everything out the window okay?" She growled and Theo looked at her.

"Woah, okay, so now this is all my fault?" Theo asked.

"A week ago, I didn't even have these "coyote instincts" that you keep referring to! I was a werewolf who survived the fire, who is the daughter of a sociopathic werewolf known as Peter Hale, little cousin of Derek and Tye Hale and who had never even known about her coyote genes that hadn't been unlocked, okay? So just... Go away." Beatrice snapped and Theo raised his eyebrows, before he crossed his arms over his chest. "What is it now?" She asked quietly as she grabbed the dark blue motorcycle helmet from off of the bike.

"You feel better?" Theo asked and Beatrice shrugged a little. "Look, it is just an adjustment period for everyone. You're adjusting to being part werecoyote, Tracy is adjusting to her two sides, Hayden is trying to understand hers and Corey is trying to get used to the fact that he can stop looking over his shoulder when he walks, every day."

"Except for you." Beatrice pointed out to interrupt him at the words and she quickly slid the motorcycle helmet on over her head, as she flipped down the visor to cover and protect her face and she kicked it into gear and drove off.

"Do you actually now, know what it is?" Casey asked as Beatrice paced in the room in front of her and she was nodding. "What is it?" Casey asked.

"La Bête." Beatrice explained and Casey's eyes widened at the words and Beatrice, she could see the effect that it had on the hunter at once. "The Beast of Gevaudan." She murmured as Casey nodded, biting at her knuckles.

"Hey, hey, stop that." Tye pulled Casey's knuckles out of her mouth and Casey glared at him. "Stop it. It is really not worth it." Tye reminded her and Casey looked up in surprise and the two Hales looked at each other.

"What is it?" Beatrice asked and Casey's hand moved to her stomach and Beatrice narrowed her eyes. "Did you feel something?" She asked as her older friend and guardian, she smiled faintly before she nodded.

"They're kicking." She signed and Casey looked at Tye with a smile on her face and Tye, he nodded.
