Jisoo's face flushed red like a tomato, her lips parted in shock as she stared at the brunette. She was too stunned to speak but Jennie could tell that she was interested, there was yearning shimmering in her eyes. For a second, it even replaced the fear she had. That settles it and cemented Jennie's determination.

Her determination didn't get lost on Jisoo, she managed to look at her like she was a real human being, not a monster that haunts her. She remembered Winter's words. She wasn't a helpless child, she was an adult, she could face her without wetting her pants (which she probably already has but we are not talking about that).

Jisoo mustered up her courage again. She stood up and went to the kitchen. The sisters waited in silence until Jisoo came back with three cups of tea, instantly making both of them smile widely.

"You really are sorry..?"

"I'm so sorry! You might not believe me now but I will definitely make sure you will believe me in the future... That is, if you don't file a restraining order against me, pretty please."

"And you said you want to help me because you are sorry and you want to cleanse your karma? You think bad things happen to you because of the bad things you did to me?"

"That's the whole story, yes."

"Oh.... I never imagined this day would come. Not even in my dreams..." Jisoo mumbled, sipping on her cup of tea. "Actually, I did dream you would apologise but not the karma story."

"What do you think...?" Ningning spoke up, putting her empty cup on the table. "Do you believe us? Will you let my sister try to earn your forgiveness?"

Jisoo took another sip before she put the cup down. She was clearly pondering for an answer as she hummed. She tilted her face, staring in Jennie's worried eyes. Her genuine expression confirmed something for her.

"You see, you are not the only person who has ever picked on me, Jennie. Maybe you did it to the biggest extent but you are not the only one. Even so, you are the only one who came to me to apologise for doing so. I can't say that I forgive you just with that. But I believe that you don't want to leave it at just that either. Which leads me to my internal conflict. Honestly, I don't know about letting you earn my forgiveness.... I feel like it will only stress me more...."

"I understand." Jennie stood up, making the other wince in apprehension. She went in front of her before she bowed down. "I'm sorry about everything, truly. I mean it when I say I regret it and that you didn't deserve any of that."

Jisoo nodded her head in acknowledgement at least. When she didn't respond, Jennie bowed deeper, lowering her upper body more.

"I will make sure not to trouble you but I can't give up. I will find a way to help you, without causing you grief."

"You don't have to-"

"I have to." Jennie disagreed. "Now after I witnessed how scared you were of me, I have to. I can't even imagine what other areas of your life I have affected. So I have to. Please let me."

Jisoo sighed deeply. Ningning on the other hand was very proud of her sister, she hasn't seen her this serious in a long time, it filled her with hope.

"I will make a list of everything I did to you. Every little prank and trouble, and then I will make up for each of them. Of course, at the top of my list is you getting your chance with Soojoo." Jennie's declaration once again made Jisoo blush.

"Y-You don't even know if she is single... She probably doesn't even remember me anymore, it's been ages." Jisoo let out a small laugh but she wasn't smiling at all, she seemed sad.
