Jisoo stared at her reflection in the mirror, weariness was etched on her face. Lines of exhaustion seemed to deepen with each passing day. She splashed cold water on her face, hoping it would somehow rejuvenate her spirit.

Dressed in her best attire, Jisoo headed out into the bustling streets of New York.

She made her way to yet another audition, the hundredth one in what felt like an endless stream of disappointments.

It was a minor role in a popular TV series but the pay wasn't much to speak of. Still, Jisoo held onto the hope that this would be her chance to shine.

She stood in line with other aspiring actors, her heart pounding in her chest as she rehearsed her lines silently.

When her turn came, Jisoo delivered her lines with passion and conviction, pouring every ounce of herself into the character.

While leaving the audition room, she wondered if this would be the role that would finally propel her career forward.

Meanwhile, in her home recording studio, Jennie sat hunched over her keyboard, a notebook filled with scribbled lyrics lying open before her as she worked on yet another commercial jingle.

She was grateful that she was getting paid for making songs but the repetitive nature of composing jingles for children's commercials started to take its toll.

She longed to create music that touched people's hearts, to sing her own songs on a grand stage. Yet, here she was, crafting tunes that were catchy but lacked the depth and soul she craved.

With a heavy sigh, Jennie picked up her guitar, strumming a few chords. She sang softly, pouring her heart into her own lyrics, dreaming of the day when her songs would be heard beyond the realm of advertisements.

Evening settled over the city, casting a hazy glow as Jisoo went back to their shared apartment. Her weary body collapsed onto the couch.

Jisoo looked at Jennie, her eyes filled with exhaustion and longing. "I'm starting to wonder if all this struggle is worth it, baby. Maybe we made a mistake moving here..."

Jennie reached out, taking Jisoo's hand in hers, her eyes brimming with understanding.

"I know it's tough, babe. But we can't give up on our dreams. We're in this together, remember? We knew it wouldn't be easy but we believed in each other's talent and passion. That hasn't changed for me."

Jisoo pursed her lips, nodding her head as her girlfriend took her in for a hug, caressing her head.

She felt guilty, so guilty because she was the one who encouraged Jennie to move to the states with her. She put that idea in her head that they would definitely make it. So after graduating from college, they went here immediately.

If she hadn't done that, maybe Jennie would have a happier life without so many disappointments instead of chasing an unreachable dream.

Maybe she was better off without her.

Jisoo's mind raced with self-doubt and guilt as Jennie held her tightly. Tears gathered in her eyes, threatening to spill over.

"I'm sorry, Jen," She whispered, her voice trembling. "Sometimes I wonder if I've held you back... Maybe I made a mistake bringing you here. Maybe you could have had a better life, a happier life, without all these disappointments."

Jennie pulled away slightly, her eyes searching her girlfriend's face.

"Jisoo, don't you dare say that," She said firmly but gently. "You are the reason I have the courage to chase my dreams. I believe in you, and I believe in us. We are partners, through the highs and lows. We made this decision together, and I wouldn't want it any other way."
