145 Days to the Fall

Y/n Pov

*Sigh* First day back in school and already professor Port is boring the life out of his students. Seriously, does this man ever stop talking about his "golden age"? During Goodwitchs' class, I was told they haven't decided where to put me yet. That translated to me that I was on my own. Not going to complain. Gives me more time to search into the White Fang.

I had opted to sit at the back of the class, away from the other teams. Specifically one person. I was still very upset about yesterday and I didn't trust myself not to say something about it. If Blake was right then it was a misunderstanding and everything will be fine. She'll pick up on the distance and say something about it. If not... Well, cross that bridge when we get there.

My scroll dinged and I flinched. Of course I forgot to turn it to vibrate. It didn't matter though, Port was too into his story to give a damn about the scroll. I pulled it out and saw that it was Torchwick. I had been waiting for him to contact me.

Torchwick: Red, things have been chaotic. The Fang are getting ready for something. Cinder has me attending one of their regular meetings in Vale to display some of the equipment they stole from that boat a while back.

Y/n: She's sending a human into a White Fang meeting?

Torchwick: I swear, she's actively trying to get me killed now. After the docks, Cinders' known somethings up. Mercury and Emerald have been more involved.

Y/n: Makes sense, use the people that you can actually trust. I asked Neo the other day, but do you think they know it's you?

Torchwick: I don't think we'd still be alive if they did.

Y/n: Neo said the same thing. Just shoot me the address and I'll be there.

Before I could get a response back, the bell sounded, signaling the end of class. I already had everything I had with me packed away and ready, so I was among the first out of the class. I noticed that Weiss tried to talk to me but as I said, I don't trust myself at the moment. I looked back at my scroll and saw that Torchwick sent me the address. I was about to beeline it back to my room to gather my equipment when I was stopped by Team Rwby.

Weiss: That was rude, I was trying to talk to you and you just ignored me!

Y/n: Sorry but I got something to do.

Blake: Is it-

Y/n: Yes, I'll send you the address later and we'll go from there.

Yang: What's this about?

Blake: Same as us. Why don't you stop by our room in a few minutes, we could certainly use your help.

Y/n: ....Your planning something.

Ruby: Maybe...

Y/n: *Sigh* Fine. I'll stop by after I drop my stuff off.

Without wasting any time, I walked away from the group. Weiss was noticeably upset that I had so flagrantly ignored her. Frankly, that's why I didn't trust myself to deal with it. Didn't know how to really. Having her talking to Neptune the way she had set a fire under me that I didn't know how to put out. Maybe I should just come out and talk to her about it. That's the most sensible thing to do, right?

Either way, I had to deal with this first. Making it to my dorm room, I set my school supplies down and grabbing my spare duffle bag. It was a good thing that I had gotten a few of these. I pulled my gear out and started packing it. Obviously, I couldn't openly walk around in it, but I would need it for later.
