👼 MY ANGEL 👼

Hearing this, Elsa couldn't help but tremble in fear. "What does a tattoo have to do with-"

"You think I don't know that these documents can be faked? You think I don't know these photos can be photoshopped? You think I don't know you can train your voice so you don't sound like yourself?... You think I don't know you could be wearing contact lenses right now, or you were before?" He basically just accused her of trying to fake her identity.

Elsa couldn't help but feel misunderstood.

She immediately wanted him to believe her. "I know you can fake it... But this is not the case, please believe me!" She begged.

"Why should I believe you, Gwen? Why should I when all you have done is lie to me?" He grabbed her arm tightly as he pulled her to him, sending daggers at her with just the intensity of his stare. "How do I know you didn't change your identity to run away from your debt? A debt you owe me?" A debt? Did Gwen owe him money?

"And my wedding, Gwen... You came there on purpose. You knew what you were doing when you walked in at that exact time."

"Wait, you're jumping to conclusions, just listen to me-"

"Why should I listen to a filthy lowlife like you?" Elsa's eyes widened as those words hit her like a stray basketball.

"Filthy lowlife....?" She repeated quietly. Her voice didn't hide the hurt she was feeling.

She lowered her gaze as her face fell into an abyss. "That's what you are, Miss Halverson... Look at me right now and tell me you are anything above that."

"I said look at me!" He roared, making the frightened girl immediately look at him with fear in her eyes.

"Are you above that, Miss Halverson?... Are you even worthy of being above that?" The spite of the man was evident in just the way he addressed Elsa. He really hated Gwen.

"Look, Jeremy Callahan, right? I don't know what Gwen did to you and why you hate her so much, but I am not her."

"Hmph! Show me your chest then, let me see you don't have a tattoo!" She was not going to show him any part of her body, especially not her chest area. Why would she lift up her shirt for a stranger?

When he saw her hesitation, however, he immediately believed it was because she was Gwen. That is why she did not want to show him that part of her body. She didn't want to get caught in her lie. That wasn't the case though.

And it seems like the one thing that could have proved that would now be the one selling her out. Because even if Elsa showed him her chest, that would have only solidified his belief she was, in fact, Gwen, so she couldn't take that risk.

She and Gwen had gotten matching tattoos. They looked like duplicates of each other and were both drawn in the same part of the body. Gwen's tattoo looked just like Elsa's. So how could this help her out of this mess? It can't. It will do the exact opposite, in fact, and just dig her deeper.

"You won't show me your chest because there is a tattoo there, isn't it?" He asked, raising his eyebrow in amusement.
