RIDDHIMA'S POV:

Neither of us says a word as Vansh smoothly pulls the car out of traffic, leaving the highway. The three cars were still hot on our trail. Large trees encroached on both sides, leaving the path ahead only discernible for a few meters as it twisted, slithering, serpent-like. I frowned, where the hell are we going?

I bit my lower lip, hiding slightly at the tingling burn I felt removing my teeth almost instantly. I risk a glance at Vansh. His mouth was set in a firm line, His jaw still clenched as he stared ahead. He was still, very much angry. The in-car phone rings.

"Angrey,"

Vansh snaps, clutching the wheel again after sliding his finger on the screen to green.

"Boss CCTV footage deleted kar di gayi hai. Mansion lockdown par hai, family safe hai."

(Boss, CCTV footage is wiped out. All is clear. The mansion is under lockdown, family is safe.)

"Good. Stay at the Mansion today. I will be back by tomorrow.",

Vansh ordered.

"Bhabhi kaisi hai Boss?",

(How's sister-in-law boss?)

Even I could distinctly feel the hesitation in Angrey's voice as he asked about me. I glanced at Vansh,

"Zinda",

(Alive,)

Vansh snapped, hanging up even though I could hear Angrey wasn't done yet. Wow, he is even snapping at Angrey, it is not a good sign for me. I shook my head, reminding myself he is not the only one who has reasons to explode, I do too. Turning my head, I focused on the outside scenery. The tree-lined lawn came to an end as Vansh drove to a path going downhill. I closed my eyes, and my palms held the hand that came in front of me, holding me safe as the car came to a skidded halt in front of the porch of a bungalow standing tall at the end of the path we just crossed. I turned my head, but Vansh was still staring ahead I flinched as Vansh ripped his arm out of my grip harshly and stepped out shutting the door with a bang. I sighed, and a lone tear escaped the confines of my eyes. I pursed my lips, it hurt, watching him walk away from me, it brutally hurts.

I wiped my cheeks with the back of my palm, and my head dropped when my side of the door was torn open. I flinched back, staring at the void eyes of Vansh piercing my soul with his dark gaze making my soul twist and turn. His jaw clenched, the hardness in his eyes wrenching me deeply. He held my elbow, dragging me out of the car, and he slammed the door shut.

"Vansh",

I called softly, pleading

"Vansh, please dheere, lagri hai mujhe",

(Vansh please slow down,)

I hissed, gritting my teeth, his nails dug into my skin as he dragged me up the stairs to the porch. I looked around, momentarily distracted by the beauty outside. There were six red gulmohar that shaded the porch, standing tall at the border surrounding it. The three small steps leading to the beautiful black door, contrast to the white walls of the five stories tall bungalow. The trees held their protecting shadow right up to the walls of the house that rose among them, making obsolete the deep porch that wrapped around the first story. I could even hear the deep sound of running water close by, hidden in the obscurity of the trees.
