The highlight of the story for me is the emotional impact it leaves on the reader due to its complex characters, usage of setup and pay off, and creativity that hooks the reader in and makes the book hard to put down. The epilogue in particular got my eyes sweating, and I loved how you had a clear idea throughout the entire narrative. The repetition of rain throughout was emotional, made sense for the characters, and created a theme that was clear and easy to understand.
Overall, Rain stands out because of its characters and emotional grounding, but it also does a great job with subtle details and wrapping the narrative up. The ending was excellent, the character work was excellent, and the overall feel of the story sucked me in and made my eyes feel a bit more moist than normal.
