25 ; a new duty

As the Fuyuhana descends from the boat, she couldn't help but be left breathless.

The Snow Islands was.... well.... beautiful. Pure white snow covered every single inch of the area as the cold wind softly blew around them. Children played with the snow, making snowman and snow angels.

Her kingdom is a living masterpiece. 'Do I really deserve to rule a place as beautiful as this?' The princess continued looking around. Her green eyes were locked as she observed the tallest building in the island.

It was the same ice castle she had saw in her dream.

Covering herself with her cloak, Fuyu strolled through the streets of the island. The island was pretty huge, and she only observed a small part of it. Did they have districts? How about the education system?

"Oh god, I definitely sound like a ruler now." Fuyu sighed. Scanning for the very shop where she was suppose to send her scroll. The people around her paid no attention to her as they continue their daily lives. They weren't living the wealthy life, but it was good enough for them to not be a part of poverty, she think.

Fuyu looked to her right, trying to find that perspective shop to drop off the scroll. People were beginning to look at her as her cloak danced around along the wind. The princess entered a dark alley and continued her journey.

Her gloved hand touched the walls of the alley. It was really, really cold, but still bearable for her. Slowly, she grazed the walls until she stopped at a particular writing on the wall.

The Queen Shall Return!!!!

REVOLUTION IS WAITING FOR US!!!!

LONG LIVE THE ICE QUEEN!!!!

Fuyu gulped upon reading the disturbing words. Were her citizens waiting for her that bad? She felt a pang of guilt slowly creeping into her heart.

After a few minutes, she arrived to her destination. Fuyu silently placed the scroll upon a desserted table and left the shop in an instance. Sitting on the roof, she continued watching the ice castle as it stood victoriously at the end of the town. The castle was so close to touching the sky, it was definitely amazing.

"It would be a dream come true if I could go to that castle one fine day and meet the queen." Fuyu turned to see a young child tugging at her cloak. Refraining herself from screaming, she took a deep breath glanced at the child.

"But... the queen isn't there yet. Mom says she will be there, one fine day. I hope so. I want to meet her. They say the queen will change the Snow Islands. And they say she's a beautiful person with gorgeous green eyes."

'Get a grip of yourself, Fuyuhana.' Fuyu muttered to herself, a single tear running down her cheek. If only the child knows who is in front of her.....

Fuyu hugged the child and pulled her closer to herself, managing to avoid the kunai that flew at that instance. The Fuyuhana looked at the direction of the kunai. Her eyes widened with fear as her green eyes came contact with royal blue eyes she had become familiar with.

"My, my.... never expected you to come here all by yourself, Fuyu." He sneered upon calling her fake name as he prepared himself for combat.

"Let's see how long till you can last." And the young genin had aimed thousands of icicles towards her. Fuyu grabbed the child and jumped into an alley beside them. She can't show use her ice jutsus here, it's too risky!! Sighing, she hid the child safe and sound at the corner of the alley.

"Whatever you're watching after this, DO NOT try this at home." The princess stood still as she prepared her kunai and awaited for the attack.

An icicle was approaching at high speed before Fuyu cut it using her kunai. A few more soared after, only to receive the same fate as the first. She didn't want to use any jutsu that could ruin the buildings, so she did what seemed to be the best option at that time.

Run.

Gracefully the princess jumped through the roofs, dodging every single icicle the genin was throwing. She looked sideways, finding something that could be use as a distraction. Her eyes sparkled as she finally gotten an idea.

But clumsiness (or was it fatigue?) had consumed her as she missed a roof and fell down to the ground. The genin increased his speed now that his target has fallen. He couldn't help but feel a bit sympathic, who knew... the great queen could be really clumsy.

"Well my queen, I was expecting you to fight but.. you made my job easier." As he took Fuyu's hand to lift her up, the genin screamed as he felt a sudden pang of coldness surge into his body.

"Did you really think I would let a mere genin defeat me? I'm a jounin, for goodness sake." Fuyu slammed her hands to the ground as jets of water appeared out of nowhere, slamming the genin into the wall.

The genin muttered out a few curses and watched Fuyu wave him farewell as her body turns into water.

"That sneaky princess..." Was all he could say before he passed out.

Fuyu sighed with relief as her clone had disappeared. Thank goodness she had time to cast a water clone before running away. She watched the sky as the colours slowly turn to the darkness awaiting.

She could not wait to return to Konoha. To return to the warm village and be with the people she loves, not to mention she didn't have to stuff her head with country problems.

But most importantly, she couldn't wait to be in Kakashi's hand once more.

At the thought of the silver-haired, Fuyu's cheek were slightly pink. She missed his kisses, his unexpected jokes, his cuddling, everything. Her hand went to the forehead protector at her neck and smiled.

All of a sudden, a strong gust of wind blew around the area. Fuyu could hear the sounds of animals. but they weren't those happy sounds you always hear at the sea. Besides, do animals even make a fuss at night?

But when she touched her forehead protector, she felt a sudden unease of heart as the wind blew more stronger than before.

Something happened at Konoha. Which means......

"Kakashi!"
